The Dragons look beatable. They are probably the only game in those 7 we will start as favourites. The Brisbane game is probably even money at home. The other 5 look scary for us. Manly were way below their best last night and still beat us 26-blot on a wet track.

Don't want to give up on us however the competition looks very fragmented this years. The contenders, the fringe teams and the also rans. For mine we will hover between a fringe team and a also ran. 5 of the sides we play in the next 7 weeks will all finish in the TOp 6 in my opinion. The Top 8 looks quite predictable this year, and we look a long way off the good sides.

I don't blame Potter. He has been left with an unbalanced roster and an inherited coaching staff. Would anyone be surprised if we are 3 or 4 wins and 7 losses?? Sadly i can't really see it any other way. We will beat some also rans this year but the draw for the next 7 rounds is very tough.

totally agree about the competition being fragmented this year. its one of the most uneven comps in quite a few years, and it does appear that the top 8 will be quite predictable.

for mine:
contenders - storm, dogs, manly, souths, cowboys, sharks
fringe - newcastle, roosters, broncos, tigers, titans
also rans - eels, panthers, raiders, dragons, warriors

i like the draw.
potter can learn alot from it with regards to this roster and make the short and long term decisions in regards to the roster going forward.

hopefully we can go a few weeks without injury, get some players back and then start telling players to look elsewhere and start making some real change in the place.

Very scary.. We played a depleted storm last year in melb - we may be steamrolled against their full pack

It's still very early in the season, but I think you're pretty close to the mark there, Steve-o. Although the Cowboys can often waver between being contenders and fringe dwellers - they were diabolical against Newcastle last week.

As for WT…well we can only hope for improvement throughout the year, but our lack of grunt up front and players like Lawrence, Marshall and Anasta not firing are major issues that don't look like being resolved too easily. Unfortunately, I think we might end up being in the also ran section this season.

We are a good chance against the Dragons and Broncos and I'm sure we will jag one or two of the others, probably be sitting at 5 wins from 11 rounds. I'm confident we will get better as the year progresses and we should win more games in the second half of the year. I am reasonably confident that we will make the eight as long as injuries don't take too much of a toll.

Wouldn't classify the Sharks as contenders. Only 4 chances in this comp atm imo

Storm, Dogs, Manly, Rabbitohs

Only game id be confident about at this stage is the Drags game

I'm much more confident whenever it doesn't rain -it hasn't been mentioned but I don't remember us ever winning or even being competitive in the rain. As soon as it rained last night I thought we would get flogged and yet I walked away happy with our effort.

If its dry for all those games then we will win 4 and then be 6 from 11 or maybe only 5 and ill be happy

The next 7 weeks are no different then the whole season. I have seen enough already to believe the Tigers will be there to win every game. It only takes 1 or 2 injuries to change a contender. Hard to fathom why Coach Potter took Farah off this would change my opinion if Coach did more dud decisions like this. It was like Brazil taking off PELE and they were 1-0 down…Still uncertain on ANASTA, he tries hard, but where to play him? ANASTA has a wonderful kicking game long and short, yet we don't use it. REDDY, I love this bloke for all his effort, but love doesn't win games. Chris, last week had a blinder, last night not so flash. "IF" his hip is still stuffed, the wet conditions would have stuffed him up big time last night in D. When you play in the rain, it is so hard to get your footing correct in D. And with a bung hip, he would have been 2nd guessing all game. I have read some post about putting Chris on the wing, worth PLENTY of thought! Did he not make his 1st Grade Debut on the wing Vs Broncos and scored 2 tries! I am yet to hear anyone in Tiger Camp say if he has lost any pace? If the pace is still there, he is a big lump of a lad and I believe with his straight hard running could be another JOHN RIBOT!! I am looking forward to the next 7 weeks!!! Barring injury and more horrific Ref's calls, the Tigers should be in real good stead. I will hold off on a opinion on Benji for the moment, I like plenty he does and then also scratch my head asking myself what was he thinking?

Actually Boonboon, I think we had a couple of very good wins in the wet weather last year. One was against the Storm, albeit they had their 'big 3' out in Origin, but it was a good effort by WT to handle the wet conditions, nonetheless. I can't recall who we beat in the other rain affected match, but I'm pretty sure we gave them a fair hiding. Perhaps some of the younger brigade on here, who don't have short term memory loss, might remember.
