NINES TEAM...OFFICIAL

Cherrington was very good , Buchanan is just a different player

Our line speed in brilliant , that is the most impressive thing

Whether we can do that for 80 minutes is the question

How good is it having a coach for the first time in three years.

yes we looked different. Better drilled and energy and calm decisions

Your observation is spot on. Calm yet full of energy. I know it's only 9s, but that was great.

Well done Nathan Brown! Young prop not known for his one on one defense or mobility. For him to make the ground he did and defend front on was a real credit to the kid.

Hope he excels under JT. I was worried we'd lose him when they let him shop himself around.

Instead of dreading SOO time we all have something to look forward to… Cherrington.

Santi is definitely bigger. The jerseys make them all look bigger I think. Simona looks huge across the shoulders. Perhaps all the rehab has done him the world of good.

It's only one game but after last year I'll take it.

Do these guys look committed ,,do these guys look fit ..do these guys look like they are being coached ..I answer yes on all ,does anyone think our new coach was going to Auckland not to bring back the trophy? a positive start to the new season at any level was imperative well done all!!

Don't you love Footy…

26-0 against one of the pre-tournament fav's .....going back to the beginning of this thread reading through the comments when the squad was announced is hilarious.....

Warriors win here will see us through to the quarters when most thought we'd be lucky to win a game...lol

Santi was awesome....

Yeah but you must admit the teams we have played have literally rolled over

Not that I care , the rest of our opposition can rollover as well

Even if Raiders win we 'should' make it due to our for and against.

Maybe our depth wont be as bad as a lot of us thought,
I liked Santi in both games and they all played well in the second
As I'm from the GC I hadn't seen quite a few of those guys before,
I'm not getting too carried away seeing there was onlyn9'ommthe field. But there's a reason to be hopeful for the season. For half the first game I thought Santi was Woods. Lamar looks to be a handful and Cherrington makes the future look good . Naquama looks like he'll be useful too

Buchanan has been very impressive and has looked like he wants to lead the other forwards by example.
Most of the young guys have gone well - future looks good (even though it's the nines)
Simona showing a lot of class, and it's hard to think that he's only a youngster as well.
Onwards and upwards!

Agree. Titians were awful. We had lots of ball. That said lots of positives still. I'm not getting carried away.

1:1 defence, line communication, line speed all good.

WOW, this was against all odds
Great attitude and good defence, our forwards were so dominant it looked like we play under 12's. The biggest surprise is Buchanan - probably the MOM, Santi very good again - Halatau who , Sue looks massive his offloads with JT and Simona in support will win us a few games.
Liolevave, Funaki, Brown, Simona were very good.

Go Tigers :sign:

I'm hoping by the end of the year Liolevave is a first grade regular, same for Funaki.
As i mentioned earlier I wouldn't mind seeing Cherrington grab a bench spot too. I know 9's isn't the best indicator though.
I also think Drinkwater looks like he could be a handy depth signing.

I know this is a massive call , but seriously I would love to see Cherrington in the 17 come Round 1

It is a power game come round one ..he will get game time through the season bring him in slow a huge talent.

Cherrington in during Origin and when Farah is injured, blood him slowly and don't lose him.

As for Funaki, Liolevave and Naiqama they need to be in firsts by the end of this season.

Lawrence has improved his defence by the looks of things, pace doesn't look to be a problem for Richards and his kicks are fantastic.

Simona looks the goods and Drinkwater is a handy depth signing.
