No Halves - No Centres - No Fullback

Now there is the obvious GO TO MAN, none other than HOMER SIMPSON 🙄! He is without doubt mankind's answer to Deep Thinkers and I am sure if pressed to provide the solution to how to rescue the SS Minow he would respond with DOH!
I thought Lee was providing the DOH.

I feel dirty even suggesting this because I hate the idea of moving players here there and everywhere, but how about

9. Simpkin
7. Api
6. Brooks
1. Staines
and Doueihi to centres.

Simpkin has been a rare shining light for me in the rubbish dishes up so far. Api played 7 for Fiji and could run the team from there allowing Brooks to roam at 6. Doueihi is a centre or nothing. Also think Staines at least offers more consistency and effort at the back.
Agree with this. At least it gives us a few more points of attack.

Needs to be walked out of the club malcontent attitudes have to be weeded out quick smart.
Then you have to ask why are they persisting with Brooks when he reportedly wanted out last year and yet they continue to move everything around him to keep him happy. Is it really any wonder that other players get over it. Far more want to leave than stay and very few want to come.

Wakeham had a great opportunity to lock down the #7 jersey last week and played worse than Brooks. Who have we got?!
Wakeham is new to the club. I'm talking about the players who have been privy to Brooks wanting out under Maguire - who the club moved on - Hastings and Madden too, yet Brooks never held accountable while others are.
Laurie was players player last year that counts for something with a squad - now by all reports being moved on too. There is clearly no team unity on the field and imo stuff like this stinks up a squad and that's how they are playing.
Do the players back Brooks like the hierarchy does - looking at how they play I'd say not.

I think the best backline we can field is:
Laurie
Tupou
Naden
AJ
Staines
AD
Brooks

I know it hasn’t looked great but we didn’t give this line up much of a chance to gel before we started rearranging things. I say stick with it for a while and coach them how to play for each other.

What do you think Hobbo 1.? Do you have any strong thoughts on how to rescue the SS Minow besides the normal comments on here e.g.
1.Sack the Coaches 2. Sack the Board
3. Sack the CEO 4. Sack the Players.
5. Relocate to NEVER NEVER LAND
6. Hand the NRL Licence back in.
You obviously are a cynical and disappointed supporter but I guess the answer to that question would be NS!
At least the SS Minnow had Ginger and Mary-Ann...

Cast your mind back to a Broncos team that finished last a few year back.

Full of talent but lacking cohesion and direction. Enter ADAM REYNOLDS.

Tigers Take Note, The No#7 is absolutely Critical to Success
Not to mention strike all through their backline. Enter Reece Walsh, a much-more-developed Herbie Farnworth & Selwyn Cobbo & lightning quick Ezra Mam.

I have faith in the likes of Junior Tupou, Jahream Bula & Charlie Staines, but we need more players with x-factor, explosive speed & footy skill in the backline.

Theres no hope for some

Its almost like people with an idea about League have been saying that since Lui departed. The writing on the wall regarding Brooks was evident since 2015 when Moses outplayed him on every level in every game. There's been zero shock to those people that the Tiger's have only made the finals in 2 eras with actual competent halves pairings.

2005 - Benji/Prince
2010/11 - Benji/Moltzen/Liu

2006-2009 - Benji/Johnny Cronk Morris - dud
2014 - onwards - Brooks anywhere in the 17 - dud

I know some people don't rate him but it's clear we need to bring back Daine Laurie at no. 1.

If they're too afraid to drop Doueihi and Brooks, I'd move Doueihi to centre, Brooks to 5/8 and let Wakeham runs the team. Although I think Naden and Toa are our best centres.
Brooks is simply a square peg in a round hole in the halves. Try him at Centre where is only has to hit the hole must keep it simple. Brooks has been the longest experiment in history & simple blunts the attack. Agree let Wakeham run the team also agree with your centres miles ahead of others.

I would put Laurie at full back, Bateman to 5/8, Wakeham to half back.

Matamuma can play as a ball playing lock to assist attack.

Blore to take Bateman's second row spot and Pole to bench on prop rotation.

I think our Centres are fine once they are feed some decent ball.

doesn't matter how you spin it, our options are hopeless. Daine's attitude is poor and is unwilling under the high ball, Doueihi is as soft as butter, Brooks tries hard but is clearly shot to pieces and Wakeham is an out and out reserve grader.

Naden had a decent start to the season, he's fine. Kepaoa will cop a spray for his tendency to rush defensively, he'll come good and has looked twice the player this year compared to last. To'a is a backup and Talau needs time in reserve grade. Reilly barely rates a mention.

I'd be opting for effort in the spine this week. what have we got to lose?

1. Staines
6. Bateman
7. Simpkin
9. Koroisau
13. Matamua
