It seems that the good players now are settling for the clubs they are with. Many of the players suggested on this site that we should look at..have resigned with their clubs .ie Brisbane and Canterbury. Available GOOD players on the market for next year are now minimal..and if there is anyone left who is decent , he will ask overs..

therefore ..stick with what we have ..BUT go with the juniors. I hope the Coach is Good.

Tolman and Kennedy would have been great acquisitions.

We still need one gun outside back as well.

Could be a long 2014 as well :frowning:

Seems everybody else is in the market for talented players, except us? Why do you never hear the Tigers are interested in a player? While we are loosing, we are not a desirable club. We need to change that fast if we want to attract quality players to our club.

Never interested…... we have Blair ! :unamused:
We have Anasta
We just signed what's his name Richards

Z grade recruiting...I hope change is coming soon

I just can't believe the first round of the buying season is all but over as all the cattle have been sold both here and abroad and we have come up with one player who is on the other side of thirty and been out of the big time for 8 years!!!

Round two will begin soon, all the depth players who are forced out of their current side to make way for quality signings or upgrades. That's where we usually concentrate our efforts, trying to find that bargain buy,or the buy that is past it's use by date.

We will get the usual spin that our current roster plus the inclusion of a few youngsters coming through the system will deliver the goods but the next couple of years will be a work in progress.

When will they learn, even the penny has dropped at the Dragons that you have to source quality players if you want to climb the ladder. At least this year they will be able to hide behind the injury toll and that should save them for another year.

The recruitment for Wests Tigers this year resembles something like you would expect an A Grade junior side to carry out. The major signing is a 32 year old winger mate of Farah, Benji, Liam and Potter. What is the job of the Wests Tigers recruitment manager? If there is nothing for him to do because the club has little or no recruitment money available why is he still being paid by the Club?

Last year we got Anasta, Thompson, and Pettybourne early on last season. They haven't done a lot so far.

Our best performing recruit by far has been Buchanan. When was he signed? Somewhere around finals time if I remember correctly.

I'm not concerned most of our recent big "name" signings haven't worked out for the long term with the exception of Ellis - O'hara, Tuqiri (one good year), Blair, Anasta (so far)

I'd rather we signed the players on the way up than chase "names". Much cheaper in the long run, particularly if they don't live up to expectations.

A lot of teams have looked to England for players who think they can make it in the NRL. If its a talented outside we need then look no further then Kallum Watkins whose only 21 and arguably one of Englamds best.

Another Gary Schofield would do nicely, but it seems that Wests Tigers recruitment know much less than what the fans know.
