Hey Tiger Fans,
Some interesting points in todays RLW.
1: Benji only has 2 guys in the league Kicking better than him… Props to Benj for turning around his form with the boot.
2: It's written that there is plenty of Interest in young Nofoaluma (20's Winger) Apparently we wanna keep him but will have a battle on our hands.

I for one hope we can hang onto this kid, As I all round rate him well above Korobiete

3: Lote is looking to sit down with the club abd negotiate his extension in the coming months...

I hope he can improve his form or he may find himself with not quite the offer he was expecting, Also i would be LIVID if we were to lose either Koro or Dave just to keep him.... I am doubtful the comp will ever see 2010 Lote again!!

I disagree batboy I think if Lote could get the same quality ball he was getting in 2010 he would show us his 2010 form

I've seen a fair bit of both this year and I'd have Koro in front by a distance at this stage. His dummy-half running always gets the U20s on the front foot out of their own end. The Lote situation is interesting, he's slowly getting better, whether that's worth a renewal I'm not so sure.

Beat me to it. I hope the Tigers do keep Nofoaluma, I am quite confident he has broken more tackles this season in the NYC than any other player. Not as explosive as Koroibete, but he's still an exciting talent who has FG written on him.

I'd be letting Lote look elsewhere given the talent in the NYC pushing through for next year.

I better clarify what I meant I think Lote can still reach his 2010 highs , but if it came down to keeping Lote or Nofoaluma and Koroibete I'd be looking at the future and keeping the NYC boys

The point about Benji is something i was discussing with the wife over the last few weeks. His kicking is excellent this year and full credit to him for it. No longer do i shudder after beau scores in the corner.

I would like to see Lote stay with the club in some capacity and would hope he is mentoring some of the youngsters coming through, but i wouldn't want it at the expense of said youngsters.

Hopefully we have a few dollars spare where we could downgrade lote's current contract + change out of ellis/anasta switches to keep these young guys on.

I agree, even better, I would like to see both of them given a chance in FG this year, say from the bench:

14 Moorse
15 BMM
16 Cashmere
17 Koroibete/Nofoaluma

I believe that Nofoaluma is a better talent than Tedesco, he just needs to knuckle down maybe a run in 1st grade would give that.
As for lote its not his try scoring that is his down fall its his bad reading in defence has been dreadfuk.

As a wing combination they could very well force Beau back to bench utility

He kept tedesco out of the fullback position in the Australian schoolboys for a while, so he has the talent.

On current form Beau would be nearly first picked at the moment.

Love both young wingers coming through NYC, Id have Koro in front, but I dont think you can go wrong either way.

I actually think we are bound to lose 1 of the 2, but it is a good situation to be, bringing through great talent each year.

Dont think Koro will be leaving just yet. Sheens brought him over out of nowhere and without Sheens he'd prob still be in Fiji. I'm sure the kid will show loyalty as long as we make a play for him..

Nofoaluma is the one to worry about. He's got talent but perhaps not the attitude Sheens wants. We don't really want to lose him but i wouldn't think his desire to stay would be as strong as Koro's…

Nofoaluma squandered his chance at an early NRL breakthrough with his poor attitude and lack of appearance when asked to go and train with the NRL squad in the off season. Teddy turned up and put in and he got a go

That being said Smeg… He IS young and who really knows how much of a chance he would have "really" got....
You would have to think Brown (At that time) Utai, Lote, Beau, Reddy and Meaney would all have been ahead of him!!
On the other side of the coin... You and I both know (Only to well) There are those who turn up and put in week after week... Year after year.... And don't get a look in!! At the end of the day, It's anyones guess!!
One current 2nd Rower (And a former NSW Cup Player of the Year) Spring inevitabley to mind....

True.

I was talking about this season. If we retain him he sahould have learnt that lesson

I think he would see 1st grade as more of a possibility next season as well…
Especially if some our current outside backs are moved on!!
(Fingers quietly crossed....)

I am only commenting on what you guys have said in this thread…but if he was invited to camp and didnt show up, isn't that the sort of poor attitude that gaurantees a player zero first grade time?

Take Beau for example. He was a competent, albeit seemingly a fill in winger for us who has obviously worked his butt off in the pre seasons to 2010 and 11 to cement his place in this side. He doesnt have the size or speed of others yet he consistently matches his opponents through perfecting the parts of his game that he can control.

Whether he was to play or not, I think that young fella totally stuffed up by not training with the top squad and trying to
a) Establish relationships with the senior group
b) Improve his game
c) Impress his coaching staff.

If he is as good as you all say, then I hope he pulls his head in and works just as hard off the field as he does on it.

Again , like you Stryker I can't comment but it may have been a confidence issue ,not thinking he was up to it at that stage Hope that this hasn't wrecked it for him with the Tigers NRL squad

We all made mistakes at his age

As far as stats in RLW go… Fulton is now no.2 in most tackles, not bad for a benchy.

Yr welcome to surprise me Lote, but think your way past it in NRL.There,I said it.
Jeez, were gonna have a golden oldies team next year with a bunch of over 30s…Bell,Tuqiri,Anasta,maybe Minicello or McKinnon, & almost Mason...maybe if they wear the rite color shorts they can only be touched & not tackled??
Invest in youth,& not a bunch of injury prone oldies living on yesteryear & looking for that final payday
