Actually some toxic nuclear chemical that would glow fluorescent green after a few days... You got this when you left some bark on the footpath after stacking your bike, or hitting the deck on the bitumen playground at school

I remember Mum having a jar of Mercury. I used to get it out, liquid steel in the palm of your hands. It was kool.
Also got bathed in mercurochrome. I forgot it had mercury in it.
