The good old days when they played it before the test pattern came on for the over night viewers. 🤣

Was it also channel 7 that used to have the cartoon of the mother Kangaroo putting the little Joey to bed or something like that at around 7.30 when it was time for the little ones to go to bed.

I think you're right about the mother kangaroo putting the joey to bed. It was just as they were shutting down transmission for the day. I was a night owl back then and saw it plenty of times.

It was whatever time the channel shut down for the night (back in the dim dark past).I also remember some people claiming that all night transmission would never happen or nobody would watch it if they did.I think what forced the critics to belatedly accept it was major sporting events involving Australian touring teams playing in the middle of the night(World cup cricket soccer and Kangaroo tours)

There was a large concrete pipe about 3m long and 1.2m diameter in the park, they removed it the other day bcoz kids have been in there humping.

Agreed, but despite what my kids say I am not that old, most of my growing up in the 80s
