One of my favourite Wests players was Ian Shubert, who played in some magpie teams which really struggled. most of the time.
He was also part of the 75 Roosters side which beat changas saint's side30 odd to blot .He was also one of the older blokes walking around prior to the game today.
I wonder who he was cheering for?

I only recognized him and fairfax
Was in primary school at fivedock during that Roosters reign...all the kids that used to follow balmain started being Easts fans...my first experience of bandwaggonism

I was in the grandstand at Campbelltown back in the day watching the Wests Magpies, and Peter Peters (there calling the game for radio 2GB) walked down the stairs among the crowd.
He was carrying a briefcase - and next you know, in vision of his somewhat portly shape, the crowd sang in unison that familiar melody: "481, double one, double one ...." 🤣🤣
