So whatever happened to Fraternity !!

Champion @Halbrowne61, Fraternity has a great history (so Dr Google tells me):

Fraternity was a pioneering Australian progressive and pub rock band formed in Sydney in 1970. They are best known as the launching pad for legendary lead vocalist Bon Scott (who later fronted AC/DC), along with other prominent musicians like Jimmy Barnes and John Swan.

History and Members

Formed in Sydney by former members of Levi Smith's Clefs, the band relocated to Adelaide in 1971. Their lineup shifted frequently over the years, but key members included:

• Bon Scott (Lead Vocals, 1970–1973)
• Bruce Howe (Bass)
• Mick Jurd (Guitar)
• John Bisset (Keyboards)
• John Freeman (Drums)
• John Eyers (Harmonica, Recorder)

Fraternity won the 1971 national Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds, which earned them a trip to London. Musically, they blended blues, folk, and progressive rock. Their biggest local hit was a cover of "Seasons of Change," which peaked at No. 1 in Adelaide.
After Scott's departure in 1974, the group underwent various name changes (including Fang and Mickey Finn) before disbanding in the early 1980s.

The Aluminium Bat Controversy!

In 1979, cricket witnessed one of its most bizarre moments.
Dennis Lillee walked out to bat in the Perth Test carrying an aluminium bat, prompting England captain Mike Brearley to object.
Play was halted for nearly 10 minutes before Lillee was forced to replace it with a traditional wooden bat.

Beautiful Jon English. I think he is the only celebrity I actually cried for when I heard of his passing. I loved him from Against the Wind to The Pirates of Penzance, to Altogether Now, and of course all his music. Sadly, I'm a few years to young to have seen him in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Yeah he was great, Six Ribbons always hits me in the feels.

NUDIST BEACH - 1975
On October 19 that year, the State Government released a one-sentence statement that effectively legalised nude bathing at Reef Beach:

“The Premier, Mr Neville Wran, today announced that Cabinet had decided that for this summer nude bathing would be permitted on a trial basis at Reef Beach and Lady Jane Beach”

On the first weekend after Mr Wran’s announcement, Reef Beach was packed with nude bathers and nearby Beatty St and surrounding streets in Balgowlah Heights were jammed with cars – something that would be commonplace for years to come.
