Last year Round 1 our side included Rochow, Packer, Godinet in our starting team with Eisenhuth and Tim Grant coming off the bench. We have a considerably better pack in all areas and our best in some time.

Brooks outplayed his opposition halfback in at least 80% of games last year. Yesterday he outplayed DCE by some margin

Seriously?
DCE was harassed all night by Farah and played in a losing team.
You must be in fixated with Brooks if you think he played well.
Average at best yesterday and no way in the world he outplayed his opponents 80% of the time last year.

Can i confirm with both of you that one of our senior players kicking on the 3rd tackle in a game of wet weather football is par for the course.

This doesnt require any criticism according to you guys?

I can only answer by stating I said his game was solid to good, not perfect. Yeah he made errors but so does every player. As for the third tackle stuff - yeah it’s frustrating when it doesn’t pay off but at least he/they are trying stuff

anyway, after it being near impossible for a player to say a good word about JT or Potter, after game one we have players singing the coach's praises. I can't quite believe that Maguire's in our coaching box.

I thought it was a good first up effort. Defence was better organised, foundations looked solid. Team looked very well drilled and actually following a plan. New players fitted in well. Josh Aloiai was sensational. If he can do that every week it’s a massive bonus for us. For the most part I was just happy we played to the conditions and grounded out the win. B+
