Does anyone remember a game I haven't seen played since I was at primary school called Vigoro .....like cricket but the bat was different .....part cricket bat .....part squash racquet.....I can only remember girls playing it
Does it still exist??
Dr Google tells me this (and like you champiuon @happy_tiger I remember it as a sport played by girls back in the day):

Vigoro is a team sport that combines elements of cricket and tennis. It's played with a paddle-shaped bat and lighter balls on a shorter pitch than cricket. Vigoro is mainly played by women in Australia, but boys up to age 12 can also play.
And Vigoro continues to be played on the east coast of Australia today with Associations and tournaments in Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania.

Ok now for something a bit more different…..
I am sure that the Mod’s or Kul can advise or provide some discreet yet interesting information in relation to the forum. I can see that there are counts and lots of stats available. What would love to know is a list of the top 10 ignored or blocked contributors here. I could be one? Who know’s. Would be an interesting read and I sure would get a lot of chat especially during this very dry period. Or is it something that we don’t have the balls to highlight? TBH I wouldn’t give a crap if I was on the list….but I do understand that some that love participation awards. Those that hold hands and sing kumbaja might get very, very offended. I don’t really mind if their feelings get hurt TBH.
Id love this

More than 100 Olympic athletes have given back their medals from the Paris 2024 Games, just five months after receiving them, because they began to show signs of damage and rust.
The company that was responsible for making the medals, Monnaie de Paris, has been fired due to this significant problem.
The IOC promised to replace the damaged medals with new ones that will look the same as the originals.

Examples of how acronyms and artefacts could not be culturally inappropriate/unwanted:
- Woomera Test Facilities in the SA, had to change its name because of the acronym😉
- Hewlett Packard at first changed their acoustical pulse indicator in their cardiac monitors/defibrillators from "beep" to something that sounded like clapping of two wooden sticks, back to "beep", as in Japan clapping the wooden sticks is used during the burial😵
- in the diagnosis of epilepsy, a foto acoustical stimulator is used, again, an inappropriate use of the acronym, as the FAS in Hungarian means pe**s😵
