I have two question marks, fullback and the last bench spot. For fullback, I would like to see Mullaney given a go. I know he's probably not completely ready yet, but if you had to choose between Brown and Mullaney I know who I would be giving it to. Brown could not regularly make first grade in a mediocre Cronulla side and I see no reason why he will succeed with us.

Obviously Tuqiri will probably eventually end up at fullback, but with short lead up time and minimal time training before this match, I doubt he would slot straight into the fullback role initially.

The other question mark is the last bench spot. Sheens loves having an outside back there, and my first choice would be Taumata. However, he's not even playing in the trials so I doubt he will come under consideration. I just hope that this spot doesn't go to Fitzhenry - playing multiple positions poorly isn't what we need. We also don't need a back-up hooker as Farah plays 80 minutes.

I'm not convinced he'll play round 1\. He might be here but Sheens keeps saying he wont walk straight into the team without settling in and around the squad first.

Sheens also said he won't be playing reserve grade lol

He'll walk straight into the side me thinks… and so he should...

I can't see why we need to rush Mullaney and to some degree Lui. Keep them in the 20's.

I'd really like to see Taumata used. Bench maybe, but we'd only be carrying him for injuries. Seems a waste. I'm hoping at some stage this year Dwyer can come into the team and shift Fulton back to the bench. Fulton can play a number of positions, even hooker now supposedly.

It would love to see Taumata get a run at fullback this week. He's the type of player that could do well there. Would solve some issues for us and allow the majority of our most dangerous players on the field at once.

Mate, there is no way he will turn up before round one and not play first grade.

I think that team is close to what we will see rd 1, but for shear interest/excitement factor I'd replace Ryan with Brown and slot Mullaney at 1.

MULLANEY MULLANEY MULLANEY.

Form and Talent should be the only 2 factors considered and Mullaney is head and shoulders above any other option at fullback. He has bucket loads of skill and CAN kick a goal. Those 2 point conversions are crucial for us, given the amount of tight games we are always involved in.

I am soooo tired of slinging crap on Tim Sheens. I just want him, for the teams sake, and his own, to realise that Jake Mullaney is the player that will step up and make a difference. Could possibly be the rookie of the year in the NRL if given his shot, and I say, he deserves a shot.

i know ill get bagged for saying this but surely ashford isnt our number one option in the centres with lawerence…. i know he is capable but he isnt damaging enough for me.... benji will have his work cut out again this yr tryin to put him through holes.... hope he proves me wrong.

why would sheens run lawrence at fullback when he hasn't had one rial match their. if he was going to do this it would of already happened

lawrence played the majority of his junior football at fullback, and IMO is concievably the best fullback at our club, he isnt utilised enough at centre, he should be on the wing or fullback.
