why would sheens run lawrence at fullback when he hasn't had one rial match their. if he was going to do this it would of already happened

lawrence played the majority of his junior football at fullback, and IMO is concievably the best fullback at our club, he isnt utilised enough at centre, he should be on the wing or fullback.

Halatau played his junior football at fullback too…

so you are comparing lawrence to halatau now? lets go through a whole list of palyers who played what and where at junior level.

the point of my post was for bazzinator to realise that fullback isnt unfamiliar to lawrence.

 That's a Classic….

Bronson was a 5/8th

I laugh when Sheens gets Lambasted for weakening a strength to strengthen a weakness...ie Moltzen at fullback instead of halfback....

Lawrence probably would kill it at Fullback or wing...hey he may even given time kill it at 5/8th or lock,,the kid is a freak, but right now his defence alone demands he gets selected in the centres...

As For Tuqiri...I would be putting my hand up high for the left wing position....Just like Tui benifitted from being outside Lawrence as his Centre...whoever gets that spot I'm putting on plenty for Top Try Scorer of the season...Hell even Fitzhenry....

Just think Geo, if they have changed the rule where you have to be behind the kicker then the fullbacks are going to have even more time and space. Lawrence would be deadly with the kick returns.

the difference is though we are struggling for a top line fullback but we have an abundance of more then capable centres/wingers. i mean whats wron with this

lawrence
brown
tuquiri
ryan
tuiaki

when at full strength? i dont really see us weakening alot mean while we have a genuine threat at fullback with lawrence who can play a similar role to slater or hayne.

I don't mind that side CT although I think it's unlikely Sheens will name that side. I think he'll go with something similar to this week's side:

1\. Brown
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs

17\. Pritchard

Brown
Ryan
Ayshford
Lawrence
Tuqiri

Looks better to me...

Ok

Everingham
Davis
Akeripa
Lawrence
Pritchard…....Fixed...

Lawrence reckons he is no where near fit enough to play fullback.

He told me that in 2007\. I was surprised he said that.

I am fully aware of Lawrence's history at fullback but if sheensy was going to do that he would of at least trialled him in that position and not caused a complete reshuffle of the backline for something that was untrialled especially this early in the season. Maybe by the end of the season we MIGHT see this at some stage but i am 100% sure that this will not happen in round 1\. Why weaken one position to strenghten another. Centre at this stage is not one of our strongest positions.

Say Lawrence was to play fullback then we would

Lawrence (Not proven at NRL standard)
Tuqiri/Brown
Ayshford
Daniela/Brown/Davis -(All not proven at NRL standard)
Ryan
Marshall
Moltzen

Not as strong

Brown - Not proven but adequate at NRL level
Tuqiri
Ayshford
Lawrence
Ryan
Marshall
Moltzen

MULLANEY MULLANEY MULLANEY.

Form and Talent should be the only 2 factors considered and Mullaney is head and shoulders above any other option at fullback. He has bucket loads of skill and CAN kick a goal. Those 2 point conversions are crucial for us, given the amount of tight games we are always involved in.

I am soooo tired of slinging crap on Tim Sheens. I just want him, for the teams sake, and his own, to realise that Jake Mullaney is the player that will step up and make a difference. Could possibly be the rookie of the year in the NRL if given his shot, and I say, he deserves a shot.

Ditto with Moltzen @ 1/2.

Lawrence is also the best centre we have in the club, so why weaken one position to strengthen another, even when we he's untested at fullback. He's never played fullback in first grade and people are saying he's the best fullback in the club. Lol at you.

Tuqiri will start on the wing!!!

CASE CLOSED.

THE COURT IS NOW READY TO PROCEED WITH ITS NEXT CASE….........
THE COURT CALLS FOR MOLTZEN V LUI!

ALL RISE.............

Lawrence being moved from the centres should not even be a topic of conversation. Alex hit the nail on the head. Chris Lawrence's junior football was over 5 years ago now.

He is a specialist centre who has continued to improve and develop in that position, defensively and in attack, assisting in a number of tries for Taniela last season. He has been touted for origin in that position, why would you move him anywhere else?

LUI VS MOLTZEN - The halfback position is the most contentious in the club right now.

I know who i would want in my team.

I am also open to Blake Lazarus having a crack, but Lui is just not ready. It was evident last year, and it was evident against the roosters. If you come in to first grade as half back you are expected to lead the team around from the get go, not 50 games in. What a waste of 2 years for all the other players around you. Regardless of Sheens philosphy.

Teams with mediocre halfbacks **generally** dont win competitions.

Lui is not good enough yet. It's a straight forward scenario.
