The NRL’s multibillion-dollar broadcast rights are going up for sale, with Peter V’landys setting a deadline for the deal, which could attract interest from some of the world’s biggest streaming giants.

As much as I hate where the direction of the game is heading on the field, I think V’landys has done wonders for it off it. Taking the game to Vegas, and now this. I even remember reading a story last year that he was at the White House. AFL still might be the number 1 code inside this country, but the way the NRL is being marketed internationally makes it a bigger deal than AFL.

Stan would then have rugby union and league and they are in negotiations with optus for EPL

Foxtel (Dazn) would be in a hell of a lot of trouble without NRL

Wonder how much Dazn cares about local sports I guess we will find out soon enough.
The live PPV boxing coverage can be hit or miss with streams dropping out for big fights, will be interesting to see if they use the same providers
 
Great to finally have some competition for broadcast rights. Well done V’Landys. Hope he keeps punching away in the USA.
Recently a broadcaster signed Tom Brady as a commentator on a 10y contract worth $375m.

What don't you like on the field G the infiltration of the wrestle and the crap that goes on around the ruck.

Mainly how fast they want the game to be. Hence why they introduced set restarts, eliminated scrums when the ball goes into touch. The way they just award anything closely resembling a try and let the Bunker check it on the run. They want as little stoppages as possible. I don’t like it.

Did an edit after you posted I hate the rubbish that goes on when they play the ball the holding down and not giving space to play it such a grey area.

They also said they wouldnt do PPV for boxing and then after a few months they did.
DAZN is going though so many things atm, massive Saudi Investment, financial losses etc.
I dont think they would keep the Kayo name, and could push all content to their own app because of the boxing and PPV content, but we will see...

NFL gamepass was fully integrated into their app when they took it over.

It is rubbish, multiple drop-outs per game, even when watching a replay.

They have an option to watch games without ads after the game is completed and they often miss sections of the game.

Not a fan at all and wish they would go back to the stand alone gamepass app.
