NRL GF... My God, what a choice

Love 'em or hate 'em Manly deserve to be the most respected team in the NRL due to their outstanding record over the last 20 years or so. It would be the envy of every team in the comp.

You have been taken hook, line and sinker by the rubbish coming out of Manly this week.

Roosters have made 6 grand finals since 2000, winning one and terribly close in two. They win this weekend and I would argue they have been the most successful team the past decade along with Melbourne.

Go the Rorters.

Both Melbourne and the Roosters have gotten the Wooden Spoon as well in the past 10 years though…

They're probably both in my top four or five least-liked teams, but as others have said - at least it's not Souths. On balance I'd prefer Manly to win because at least it's not a new set of irritating fans, and as a reward for bumming out Souths.

It's got bugger all to do with that. It is an observation from watching most games every week in the NRL for the past 10 or more years. Manly's record is to be admired, as is their style of play.

Wasn't there a stat saying that they had only missed the finals 8 or so times in 60 years, that is superb by any standard.

Gus & Rabbs were talking it up deluxe which is never a good sign.

If this is the NRL standard of what is quality I hope rule re-interpretations tweak it a bit

I'm guessing most hate Roosters cos of 2010 and in recent times they have demolished us. Anything else is speculation (cap, drugs).
Still would prefer Roosters to win this year, will be good for someone other than Melb/Manly to win since 2007 (minus Dragons ofc).

What it does show is we are years away from this level of football.

The competition is so even at the moment, it's any team's chance any year. Only Manly and Melbourne have been the two consistent teams in the past 5-10years.

The 2009 and 2010 grand finalists (Eels 09, Dragons 10) finished in the bottom 3 this year. The Roosters who finished with the spoon in 09 won the comp this year. Many of the Roosters team that year played tonight. All it takes for a team to turn it around is good recruitment, a good coach and some talented juniors.

It's a good point phy - Brooky is not up to standard their roster is getting old poor fan base - a relocation could be on the cards

They've missed the finals 9 times since 1967\. Could be waiting a while.

I spent the GF at a mates with a few NSW Cup/first grade players we know from several different teams. This ASADA investigation is going to get pretty crazy. I can't comment on names because it could put some of these guys in the firing line, but expect things to getting pretty messy for some high profile players in the next few weeks.
