BREAKING: NRL Grand Final to move to Queensland

The NRL Grand Final will reportedly move to Queensland after 2019 while ANZ Stadium undergoes renovations. NRL Chairman John Grant hinted that Suncorp Stadium would likely host two Grand Finals in the four years it will take for major changes at the Olympic Stadium.

Calls for the NRL's showpiece event to move to Queensland grew with an all-Queensland Grand Final in 2015, between the Broncos and Cowboys.

Seems like an obvious solution given ANZ has a reduced capacity. SCG? No. It's a terrible ground to watch league. MCG would be long odds unless the AFL GF was a week earlier.
I also hope if the Cows finally get a decent stadium they take an origin up there.

Why would you?

Alliance holds nearly as many people as Suncorp. Just about money as usual with the NRL.

If you want the GF to be played at the home of Rugby League - then it is simple, it stays in Sydney. Saying Suncorp is the home of RL doesn't make it so. It isn't and never will be, whether they host the GF or not.

As for Melbourne - they are a wasted space. Why they get an Origin is beyond belief. Hello it is NSW and QLD - where does VIC come in (only on the beer can).
They can have the GF the year when Sydney has the Melbourne Cup at Randwick.

No doubt the scheduling of The AFL season could be adapted so the AFL WILL be over.
If the power's to be, want it to happen at the MCG, they will get it done.
