Wests Tigers have named a strong 22-man squad for their upcoming trial against the Parramatta Eels, to be played on Friday night at ANZAC Oval, Alice Springs.

Among those selected for the Club's first NRL trial under new Head Coach Jason Taylor include international representatives Robbie Farah, Aaron Woods, Martin Taupau, Sauaso Sue and Tim Simona, while new recruits Josh Drinkwater and Kevin Naiqama have also been named following strong performances in the recent Auckland Nines competition.

2014 Dally M Rookie of the Year Luke Brooks is unavaliable for the match due to his appearance in the NRL All Stars match, while the likes of James Tedesco, David Nofoaluma and Tim Moltzen all continue their injury rehabilitation.

Taylor's team will face a strong Parramatta side as they do battle for the Royal Flying Doctors' Service Cup, with kickoff set for 7:30pm on Friday, February 13.

Check out the full NRL squad to take on the Eels in this week's trial below.

Shannon McDonnell. Haahahahahahaha, almost a bigger joke than the consistent selection of Braith last year. This bloke gets any actual first grade game time this year, say hello to the spoon.

Given our depth and experience in outside backs, McDonnells inclusion isn't the travesty people are making out.

Can't believe Sita isn't there. Thought he'd be a smokie for the backrow

Lodge playing NSW Cup trial for his arrest, Akoula down there too but I don't know for what reason.

That's right lodge! Hoeter seems to be the first choice back up at centre. No fine? Hitchcox left for super league right?

Yeh I think Hoeter will start at fullback. So far I'm no wrap on him but fingers crossed he goes great.

Anyone else get the feeling Lovett is a smoky as a back up centre? He played outwide all 9's as a centre which caught my attention, and now he's a surprise inclusion in the top squad with Fine in State Cup. I don't see him having the physicality for the forwards at NRL so my gut tells me Taylor has other plans for him. That being said, I don't think he has then athleticism for outwide either.

Maybe someone who has been at the fan days can confirm if he trains in then forwards or centre

Obviously McDonnell has done everything right to gain a contract, and JT must think something of him to put him in the NRL trial squad…

Just saying......

Interesting that Taylor says he will play sironen at 6 and Moses at 7 for part of the game.

Everytime I hear Taylor speak I am impressed. He seems so clear and presise about what he wants. Mentioned that he couldn't care less about the result, the trial is all about continuing to work on what they've been trying to put in place over summer.

Settle down please people!, it's only a freakin' trial with a new freakin' coach!, time will tell!, he hasn't got that much to work with so he's just sussin' a few fella's out, so I'm an ancient fella, is this the the way I should be hittin' the diss without dissin' anyone?.

Aside from Akauola and Lodge, it's the strongest team we could have named IMO.

16\. Halatau

With all due respects the last mom performance i've seen from him was against the dragons in a 2005 semi.

I liked it when we had 4 big blokes early last season.

:roll at McDonnell. Going to set a few people off.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I thought he showed a few glimpses last time round :imp:

Think our first 3 choices of fullback are injured: teddy, moltz and Rowe.
