NSW Side Selected

Beau Scott?! Jesus Christ, NSW have hoisted the white flag by selecting him. Would have been better off playing a man short. Can't get Daley's love affair with Beau Scott…photo finish between him, Dean Young and Jamie Buhrer as the worst player to have played Origin. The series is over before it even began TBH.

Well, I damn near picked the run on side, except I had Woodsy on the bench and Grant starting - that's gotta be a first for me lol.

The bench is really the only area I have reservations about. Not too keen on Lewis being there after only 2 games back from such a long stint on the sidelines - I wouldn't have minded seeing Tariq Sims get a run in his place - he has lots of fire in his game. Also, Merrin has done little this year to deserve selection, imo, but he did perform very well in Origin last year, so I guess that's what the selectors are hoping for again. And Tony Williams? well what can you say? On current form he should be there, but boy he can go missing a lot during matches. He didn't do too well his first time in Origin, but neither did Robbie, so perhaps he deserves another shot too. If he plays his best, he can certainly cause a lot of damage.

I know a lot of people aren't keen on the back row of Hoffman and Scott, but I think they will surprise a few. They are both playing out of their skins at the moment and Scott, whilst I've never really been a big fan of him, seems to be getting better with age.

There's a lot to like about the new halves pairing, I think they will go great and Robbie might actually be able to play his natural dummy half game now, without having to worry about covering the halfback role, as well.

Lots of faith being shown in Woodsy I reckon, with minimal props selected, so I sure hope he is up to it and doesn't go out there looking lost like he did last year and also this year during City v Country.

I like the side overall, and I think they will do better than expected, so watch out Qld!
