NYC Live Game Thread vs Bulldogs 1st Final.

Mullaney, lui, Jason shirnack, woods, fifita, dwyer, politani all played first grade. Also another forward played a game or two for souths off the bench this year, can't remember his name.

Aaah yeah thanks for that mate! Dunno how I forgot Woods, Lui and Fifita

Only the second time I've seen the NYC side live on TV and I'm going to watch the replay today on FOX Sports as I missed the first 15 minutes of the game, probably was a good thing as the Dogs were up 10-0 at the time.

Fully deserved the win last night will be hard pressed to go all the way but a good win.

This team puzzles me, I watch them regularly and to be honest just don't rate them that much. In 2009 it was obvious that the team oozed class and had a lot of players destined for first grade, I just don't see it in this team.

No idea how they won tonight, but it was gutsy and they hung in there. All the bench forwards were very good. Was hugely disappointed with fotuaika in his first stint but his second stint was fantastic.

Mulcahy, where has he been hiding!? Looks like a real footballer and a bit of an old school 5/8, showed the ball very well and backed himself. Miller had a mixed bag but I do think he is a future first grader, people dismiss young players too early these days.

Rowe was quiet good and much safer then Rudolph has been, doesn't have the same spark in attack but you can tell he has played fullback all his life as opposed to Rudolph (take note mr sheens).

Korobeite was an animal as usual, thought you saw the difference between he and nofoaluma in attitude in that game, nofoaluma has all the talent to be better then marika, but marika plays as though his life depends on it.

All in all the team while be stoked, week off and probably play the raiders or warriors (who we've beaten both this year) for a spot in the GF.

Santi will be our Gallen in 3 years… Once he got on the pitch, he tackled his guts out, regularly making 3-4 tackles each set. Then he would roll up the sleeves for his 1-2 hit-ups.

He'll play plenty of NRL Games!

And the funny thing is we pinched him off the Dogs.

Anyone know if Klemmer will be back for the Dogs in the coming weeks? If we happen to make the GF and the Dogs are our opponents the big prop will add plenty to their go forward.

Shame we can't include Groat.

the difference was the bench the team looked so much more aggressive when they hit the field.miller still worrys me he seems so uncertain in what he needs to do.defence needs a lot of work, but you hung in there boys good luck next time, just remember you may never be here again.

Mulcahy has played a few games before at either wing/fb but he's been killing it in Bundy at half for BNRU. A few weeks ago he made Wenty, who are one of the favs, look park like at times with his game. Not suprised he's doing ok. Think Todd may have thought he wasn't up to it in D, but he's been handling himself well against grown men in Bundy, so that has helped him.

great to see the boys hold on early in the game and not let the score blow out , running the dogs down was great to watch , well done

What's to worry about? Defended well, bombs were spot on and when he ran the ball (which he should do more) he was very dangerous. 100% goal kicking record as well. Anasta stated that he is the best 1/2 in the NYC, and he is. Given a reasonable and I mean reasonable chance in the first grade he would do great.

Very good effort by all forwards, Santi was probably the best, not much behind Saunders and Brown. Groat will have to lift his game to play in NYC. I like what I saw from Lowitt, Sue and Paasi.
Marika of course, but he was underused. Rowe showed how to play FB, why we did not use our NYC guys when Tedesco was injured ?
Nofoaluma was very safe under high ball. I also like Fine, few very good runs.
Miller was invisible in 1st half, but much improved in 2nd.
Mulcahy won us the game, his acceleration is Barba like, all other players looked like in slow motion when he run through their defence.

Go Tigers

Groat is a funny one… Personally he was no where near NRL Level when he got his call up last year. One would think he was selected purely on Pedigree and at the same time, we over-looked Neil Begovich who has a great work ethic. I'm not convinced Groat would of offered much more than the 4 props we played last night?!

Brown is in a similar scenario to Begovich... Great work ethic, but (I don't think he was as good as Begovich) the last 2 times I have seen him come off the bench, he has out-performed our starting Props. I really like Mosese as he does 'his job' every game, and I feel he will be given some game time in NRL next year, as he is the type of forward that Sheens likes... Mr 1%'r

Is Brown eligible for NYC next year?

Neither Brown nor Fotuaika are eligible for NYC next year Watto, same applies for Groat.

Matty Mulcahy is from Mullumbimby same as miller, hitchcox and Chisholm. Played first grade half last year at 17 and killed it! At school he was a state athletics runner 100m and 200m as was his brother Kurt who had a roosters scholarship when a school boy. Matt is smallish but give him a good offseason down there and he will be ready to kick on next year.

Ahh Brown is eligible for NYC next year, he played SG Ball last year and is 19 this year.

I thought Bradley Soe, the number 3's defence was terrible. He gifted them 2 tries in the first half, surely Matt Evans is a much better proposition than this guy some of his attempts at tackle were pathetic and he did nothing in attack.

sorry but miller is not a 1st grade player today tomorrow or next year, his kicking overall was terrible and he never runs at the line, try watching the game rather than talking him up. two bombs in 80 min and he had a good game REALLY???

Yeah he was pretty poor, their second rower was terrorizing him all game. Do you know what happened to Micheal Kai? He played in our first few games & isn't listed in the injured players, he looked impressive & score a few tries as well. I know you keep a track of our juniors & i was hoping you can tell me what happened to him. Also will Moses be ready to train from the start of the pre season after breaking his leg? Not sure the recovery time for a broken leg & when we plan to start our pre season. Cheers Flash

Thanks Flash, So he should only miss the first month or so of pre season training depending on when we start. Milford for the Raiders who played in the halves in SG Ball this year played well again today, so I'm looking forward to seeing Moses & Brooks progress in the 20's next year.
