Tigers need to play smarter in attack. They were breaking tackles just running straight and hard and then drop it going wide. If they play up the guts there are tries on offer.

Miller field goal on fulltime. Good win in tough conditions playing against the ref.

Fantstic win by the young fellas. Copped Canberra's niggling dirty tactics and gave it back to them-pity the Raiders players were soft and stayed down.
Also got badly reamed by the referees and still came up with the victory. Good stuff boys….now for the firsts :sign:

How about that, was this one of the lowest scoring NYC games ever, good old bash 'em out sort of game, something the NYC kids are unaccustomed to, penalty count against them, conditions against them, well done young men.

Solid old school footy from the tigers. Very different to their usual playing style.
Miller was the classiest on the field by far. Groat struggled big time. May have been his dodgy knee in the wet conditions but he looked terrible and way under standard, even for the 20s

WESTS TIGERS BEAT CANBERRA 15-6 IN NYC

Wests Tigers recorded a hard fought 15-6 victory over Canberra Raiders tonight in round 13 of the NYC competition.
In a match played in cold and wet conditions, Wests Tigers were never headed in a fiery match to defeat the competition leaders. The win moved Wests Tigers to outright second on 20 points, one point behind Penrith who moved to the top of the ladder courtesy of the bye.
The win also makes up for the very disappointing loss a week ago to the North Queensland Cowboys at Campbelltown. It was the second time this season Wests Tigers have beaten Canberra.
Wests Tigers were boosted with the return from a knee injury of young NRL player Matt Groat.
In a match being played in cold and wet conditions, Wests Tigers defence was switched on in the opening five minutes to stop a Raiders raid inside their own quarter.
Talented Wests Tigers hooker Ben Saunders left the field soon after with a leg injury.
Wests Tigers half-back Jacob Miller put a short grubber kick through on the last tackle in the 12th minute. The ball hit the padding on the upright posts but was knocked on by Wests Tigers in trying to pick it up to score.
Miller opened the scoring in the 26th minute when he put through a short grubber kick on the last from 10 metres out. The ball deflected off a Canberra player into the arms of Miller who dived over to score next to the posts. Full-back Manaia Rudolph converted the try for a 6-0 lead.
Wests Tigers grabbed their second try in the 39th minute when Sitaleki Akaoula pounced on a spilt grubber kick by two Canberra defenders from a grubber kick by five-eighth Jordan Marshall King.
Rudolph converted the try to give Wests Tigers a 12-0 lead at half-time.
Canberra had a few chances in the first half but poor handling let them down.
2nd Half
Wests Tigers muscled up in defence in the opening minutes of the second half to again stop the Raiders.
The game erupted in the 49th minute after Akaoula grabbed winger Brad Smith's long hair following a run. He was placed on report and sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes.
A penalty goal to Rudolph in the 54th minute from 10 metres next to the posts saw Wests Tigers extend their lead to 14-0.
Wests Tigers conceded a very soft try when full-back Jack Ahearn darted over from dummy half to score under the posts in the 57th minute. The try was converted to leave the Raiders trailing 14-6.
Wests Tigers winger Marika Koroibete was placed on report after he head slammed Josh Mitchell into the ground in the 62nd minute. Mitchell left the field with a neck brace.
Miller landed a long range field goal in the dying seconds to give Wests Tigers the 15-6 victory. Wests Tigers have won 9 of 12 matches under Coach Todd Payten.

Well I didn't see him almost lose the ball. Looked like he just decided to kick for himself. Not the play they wanted. The first kick worked out okay - if he had have picked it up he probably would have scored.
