NYC Preview: Tough encounter awaits

Wests Tigers will be looking for their third consecutive win when they take on South Sydney in the NYC competition on Friday night.

Victory at ANZ Stadium will see the sixth placed Wests Tigers have the opportunity to push for a top four position subject to weekend results. Wests Tigers have won three of their past four matches.

The Rabbitohs may be sitting in 13th position on the ladder but Wests Tigers Coach Todd Payten says the opposition is a team beaming with talent.

"Their forward pack is underrated and hard working and have lightning speed out wide,'' Payten said.

"Centre Aaron Gray has been playing in the NSW Cup for the last few weeks. They are also well coached by Grant Jones."

Kick-off is 5.20pm.

Grant Jones was the old coach of Balmain in the NSW Cup a few years back wasn't he?

Don't get me wrong here I appreciate the exposure our U20's boys receive but seriously, compared to other clubs the Tigers NYC match previews suck! I mean what do they actually tell us? Sweet FA IMO. Why not talk about key match-up's or something even remotely interesting to read?
And if Tigers don't want to say too much because it will 'give away' their game plan.. :crazy …. please we're 10 rounds into the season and its not rocket science to know another teams strengths and weaknesses!!
All I'm saying is give us a good read instead of posting a half-a@%ed waste of space.

Actually, while I'm expressing my footy news reading passion can someone please educate Wayne Cousins on these boys names? :master: Every week he gets the players names mixed up and really he should know them all by now!!
I know he has 1st grade to cover straight after but I was always told growing up that if you are going to do a job you do it properly and if it's too much for him......get some help! I'm sure anyone of us passionate fans would love to help out on game days...... shit I'd even do it for free! LOL
