NYC Team Announcement: Round 14 vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs

Tue 9th June, 05:16PM

Wests Tigers NYC Coach Brett Kimmorley has named a strong side to take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs in their Round 14 match on Friday, June 12.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 5:30pm at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.

Following a thrilling win over the Gold Coast Titans last Friday night, Kimmorley’s side has been boosted by the inclusion of star centre pairing Marion Seve and Watson Heleta, who also both recently announced their commitment to the Club with new deals.

Fullback Jeremy Marshall-King has also been named to return from injury this week.

1\. Jeremy Marshall-King
2\. Ryland Jacobs
3\. Watson Heleta
4\. Marion Seve
5\. Mason Cerruto
6\. Te Maire Martin (capt.)
7\. Veiru Mapesone
8\. JJ Felise
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Junior Tatola
11\. Matthew Woods (capt.)
12\. Bayley Sironen
13\. Tyler Cassel

Interchange
14\. Esan Marsters
15\. Pio Sokobalava
16\. Mark McCormack
17\. Pifeleti Pifeleti
18\. Thomas Grealy

Coach: Brett Kimmorley

Very odd that we drop our best winger in Kharwin??! He's much, much better than Jacobs. Cerruto changes position and grade every week so who knows anything about what form he's in or what position he should play

Wondering if Kharwhin picked up an injury last week? He bagged another double so it makes no sense to drop him.

It seems he's not injured, but dropped to sydney grade comp. Kimmorley has seriously got rocks in his head. Obed's scored 2-3 times as many tries as anyone else in the side, and hasn't let many through for which he's been at fault.

Let's hope common sense prevails and he's re-instated by gameday. Can't be good for his confidence to be dropped despite being the only consistent performer in the backline!

If this is the same "coach" who recommends other NRL teams sign our juniors (i.e. Te Maire Martin) then I doubt common sense has any chance of prevailing.

strongest side we have name all year.

Interesting that they still have Levido behind mapeseno.

I understand Kharwin missing out, not much between the wingers and think they want to get them all some game time. Cerruto looked good early on. I more surprised we havent seen much Satterwaite this year.

Almost. Probably have Cerruto at fullback over Marshall. And wingers would be Kharwin and Sattherthwaite who should be back from injury in a week or two.

Strongest line up IMO:

1\. Cerruto
2\. Kharwin
3\. Heleta
4\. Seve
5\. Satterthwaite
6\. Martin (capt.)
7\. Mapesone
8\. Felise
9\. Liddle
10\. Tatola
11\. Woods (capt.)
12\. Sironen
13\. Cassel

Interchange
14\. Marsters
15\. Sokobalava
16\. McCormack
17\. Pifeleti
18\. Grealy/Aranui

Tohi, Jacobs, Marshall kIng all quality backups to have for injuries.

I missed that….when did that happen.

Is that after we dropped him or why we dropped him

Sorry Goose don't know. Saw him playing 2 weeks ago for Souths NYC on Fix and asked if anyone knew why he left but got no replies

I thought Alofi would play a role this year as well, very electric, work rate might be an issue.
Imagine if we dropped back Lamar, Funaki and lodge, we'd rip sides apart through the middle.

Yep.

2' - TRY TIME! Jacob Liddle slices through from dummy-half and runs 30 metres to score a great try! 4-0

3' - Mapesone adds the extras and we lead 6-0 early in this one!

15' - South Sydney shift left and hit back with a try to Damon Goolagong in the corner. 6-4 with a kick to come

16' - Jordie Hedges converts from the sideline. It's all locked up at 6-6

28'— TRY TIME! Good hands to the left and Heleta sends Jacobs over in the corner! We lead 10-6, KTC!

30'— Mapesone lands the sideline conversion and we now lead @SSFCRABBITOHS 12-6\. Good game so far!
