Off contract players 2024

Backline is another dilemma.
We've got Luke Lualii, Makasina and Willett who I'd like to see developed as the future.

Olam and AD are probably what we're hoping for being the centres with Staines and Turuva on the wings, however I wouldn't be settling for this.

I like @BlackWhiteGold or @The Chad suggestion of Reimis Smith for some experience and class... or possibly an old man return Ala Pat Richards style in the likes of Tim Lafai.

1. Jahream Bula
2. Sunia Turuva
3. Reimis Smith *
4. Olam / AD
5. Charlie Staines
Reimis Smith, Isaiah Tass and Tesi Niu would all be automatic picks in our outside backs

From that list Iro, and Alimoti would also be great pick ups (along with Tass, Niu and Reimis) for backs

Tom Eisenhuth is a workhorse and Jack Williams or Jazz Tevaga could be a cheap lock/bench option

Need to hold out for the moment.
We need to free up roster spots.

Skelton, Iro, Williams, Haas, Esienhuth Bros all would walk into our 17 but not stars - in saying that they all wouldn’t let us down like the current mob often do.

The list is dry but come oct-dec things open up.
We sign a player for 25 and push for an early release or a club in cap issues needs to move a player on. It happens every year.

Not too familiar with a lot of the names on the off contract list but for outside backs I’d choose any 2 of the following:
Tesi Niu
Reimis Smith
Bailey Simonsson
Paul Alamoti
Isaiah Tass

On top of this 1 x prop (2 if Stef goes) and 1 x edge back row

1. Bula
2. Ravalawa
3. Olam
4. Turuva
5. Sivo
6. Galvin
7. Luai

Sign the Fijian tanks on 2 year deals until our kids are good enough.

On the RIGHT money Ravalawa is worth a shot. But you want to have a fall back option. Seeing as nobody listened with Hymel Hunt (who lets face it, would be better than Lobb....) I'll keep mentioning Tesi Niu. Centre/winger that is rarely the reason the Broncos or Dolphins don't win. Runs hard, low centre of gravity. Australian schoolboy too.

Can't get Alamoti. Last off season the experts in here said he was "too slow".

Then he signed with Penrith & everyone complained we didn't sign him.

Then he re-signed with Penrith & there's a wave of people that want him here. 🙂
