OFFICIAL: Wests Tigers sign James Tamou

Ok so with the season we have had and the fact that tamou has been our captain through it do we think he will retain the captaincy for next season? I for one think he has been terrible all season for someone who has come to the club to lead! He’s shown nothing IMO. I may be being a bit harsh I guess but with the name tag captain u would think every performance would be better then the one prior and showing the team a leader on the field with carries meters or defensive efforts and I don’t believe he has shown any of that!!

Tamou isnt our reason for loosing games,

This is a squad attitude.

Terrible decisions and the team doesn't win the collision

He was signed, almost exclusively, to be a vocal leader to initiate a change of mentality and professionalism at the club. Instead he's been a quiet little mouse, afraid of speaking out of turn.

His leadership has failed spectacularly, and Madge should have been giving him a rocket throughout the season to rip into the boys more when he sees fit.

We are paying Tamou $350K a season yet we run away from Finucane a dedicated forward and captain.? He would easily be worth at least double Tamou's salary.

Finucane reportedly wanted 4 years at more than double.Very risky signing for a man his age

Does anyone know what's doing with James Tamou this season (2022)? Is he done? Didn't see him in the pre-season training photos from today.

Personally I hope he gracefully exits, we have some seriously talented young forwards who need opportunities and I'd hate to see him take up a spot in the 17 to play his 25 minutes.

Or he plays reserve grade gracefully. I don't think he makes our top team on form so why pick him.

He is probably the Covid vaccine hold out so can’t train at present. Retirement is his best option and for the team

James-T will continue to be a positive influence on the squad in this his final year of NRL.

He still has a presence around our club that is a very young squad.

I haven’t seen Hastings either but I’ve seen plenty of Gildart, maybe I’ve just skimmed through and missed Hastings

Hastings and Peachey bring a lot of experience. Twal and Leilua are well seasoned now. Tamou seems like a nice guy but his on-field contributions don't really warrant his presence every week.

Injuries happen, I don't have any problem with him sticking around and playing a depth role off the bench. He wasn't as awful last year as some like to make out. Still a solid presence in the middle and knows what he's doing, just doesn't have the same drive through the line that he used to in attack.
