Hi Fellas

Fun offseason

Anyway watching the rugby and wanted to get people's thoughts on the video ref making calls during the game to the ref. I think it's better than the system we have thoughts?

Love it!

I liked the video ref ...but I'm into getting everything right if possible

Many would hate the constant stoppages

If I'm not mistaken the video ref already sends feedback to the on-field?

I don't watch rugby at the moment but I'm surprised to hear there's a day dawned where reffing in rugby is superior to league. Always been an over-reffed sport since Day 1, and the only advantage they have wrt making calls is that the ruck is way slower than in league, so officials get a chance to stop and scan for infringements.

The officiating last week was atrocious. The solution in both sports is not over-officiating - we need refs who don't wish to be the centre pf attention which is why Matt Checcin was so good. I'm not sure what happened to him. He's not listed on the NRL as a current ref and apparently works in a mental health capacity.

It's painful to watch... Was a great game to play
Marika sin binning was an example of the pedantic rules in the game
I think I realised last nite union & AFL is the only thing keeping me watching nrl

One thing that was very notable last night was the protection of the head compared to league. Sent off for contact to the head. Clear onus on the tackler to adjust technique.

Agree it would be one way of decreasing the number of high shots in the NRL there

I think the big difference is Union sides then don't go find ways to abuse the new rules anywhere near as bad as a NRL side does

Sometimes no matter what the big fellas will get found out ..if you watch both attacking players weren't at their normal standing height ...when you step off the right or left you will always be at a diminished height ...the other thing that amuses me that the footage is never played at normal speed ....you have a split second ..maybe less to work out what the attacker will do footwork wise ....maybe we should ban blokes side stepping .....

It is pretty clear that union officiating is much better than league IMO. Union refs have a iron-fist control over the game, unlike the poxy league refs we have at the moment who let themselves get dictated to by certain players.
How Sutton has again been gifted this week's Origin game is beyond comprehension. He is utterly hopeless.

That'd be right.
Not even his wife would want the pipsqueak imbecile.
