Offloads

Our forwards are hopeless at offloading - we have no second phase play. Surely after all these years Galloway would've learned to pop a ball out occasionally whilst hitting the line. Woods and Taupau make good metres, but rarely do they offload either. The only one who seems to have any innate talent in this area is Ava, who pops out a beauty, a la Beetson at times, but he's about the only one. Imagine how much better we would go if our big boppers could bring this into their games more, with players like Tedesco and Brooks trailing them.

It's one area that the Roosters forwards killed us.

Indeed!

JWH got away a couple of sensational offloads tonight that really got the Chooks rolling. Our guys are probably playing to instruction; Taylor seems to favour a very conservative approach to the game.

I think we were offloading at will earlier in the year. We have also been very good at stopping offloads all year from what I remember.

We just seem to stuff everything up against the roosters..

Ava's ball tonight was very impressive, as was his leg drive, but I agree we just don't promote the ball.
Roosters defended it well and we didn't, but we weren't exactly looking for it either.

as we mentioned during the game, there was 1 I mentioned of some good 2nd phase from us….............1 the entire game, just not good enough.

They defended well, but we didn't ask too many questions of their defence anyway.
