Old Balmain Tigers Jerseys

Not to hijack the thread, but I was wondering if folks have / collect the super old jerseys, like 1930s Balmain with the old logo?

I haven't seen many people with anything older than 1960's- and most don't have anything from pre 1980's. I am sure someone out there does though! Just very hard to find some of those I think. The more modern they are, the more jerseys were actually made and sold

Not sure if that jersey resembles 1st grade
That's me back row 3rd from the right
My captians was Stan Presser front row second from the left
He ended up playing 1st grade for western suburbs
If I remember right played a few games on the wing
Anyone on here know him

nah mate, i just collect old jerseys around my size to wear around! Not really into collecting much else!

They were in the window of my local T.A.B about 3 weeks after we won the comp .. so I knocked one off ? and had it framed ?

It's been many years since I've enjoyed a beer there, but The Grand Hotel in Wollongong used to have a pic of Gary Jack on the wall. Nothing too original about that I guess, until you realise that his old fella is hanging out lol.

Haha...the first time I noticed it I was pretty groggy. Lol, I covered one eye to make sure I was seeing true lol. I think Alan McMahon was the owner of the joint at the time. Might have been a payback on a mate or something.

It was only in the 70's that supporter jerseys began to become available, so nearly any earlier jersey you come across would be an ex player jersey, so these are pretty scarce.
One of the rarest Balmain shirts would be the 1962 that was only worn that year. It was a grid iron style that I think Manly also used.
