Oneill needs blame not the coach!!!

Firstly MR.O'Neill bought in the Pizzas which was the direct reason we lost to the Gold Coast 30-18\. It was not the fact we were poor on the field. In fact the PIZZAS startd our 6 game losing streak. The players looked sluggish and unfit and it was nothing to do with the coach and players that we went on this bad losing streak.

Secondly Mr Oneill needs to stop influencing selections. JT is being out voted by the committee.

Its becoming very clear, Lately that JT is not getting the support and love he needs at the selection table. He is unable to pick the best 17 available according to him. This is further evidenced by

1.Farah has been "rested" and dropped to the bench (JT loves Robbie and would not want that)

2.Rankin has returned to the team (A Taylor signing) at the expense of Addo Carr.

3\. Oneill deciding that ET was in fact a really good option to start at number 9, despite being clearly our best lock.

These moves clearly wouldnt have been made by Taylor?!

SO I think guys we need to be careful with putting most the blame on the coach for our poor position on the ladder, our poor defence and a few questionable selections.

We need to instead consider Oneill's involvement in starting our losing streak and his influence in all dodgy selections.

I agree Eddie. We should get rid of O'Neill and put someone in the position that has a proven track record of working with a head coach to ensure the teams success, rather than someone that wants to be hands on in everything and undermine the coaches directions. I would nominate Robbie as the perfect candidate for the role. I am sure that his resume contains glowing references from T. Sheens, M. Potter as well as the current coach.

And Taylor might just learn something from someone who knows something about the game. You could sell tickets to the Coaching meetingd :roll

If you weigh up the positives and negatives of Jason Taylor I see him in more positive light.
He has recruited well and managed a squad with money issues and culture issues. Potter did zero in recruitment terms and was just a filler.

Give Jt some credit. Not many would walk into this mess and get most things right.

Eddie is only endorsing what he saying a month or two ago

He is one of a few selectors (who would potentially carry extra weight being the head coach)

Please understand This is very common for professional sports teams.

To Have the head coach as the sole selector is not that common.

That really is some fascinating insight into Mark O'neill and how he is approaching his role. Like TigerTorch said it is not the sort of hands on approach that someone like Bennett or Bellemy would appreciate. However obviously O'Neill feels it is required here to right the ship.

I think it is good to see O'Neill is asserting some authority if he feels like selection needs a shake up. Looks like he got sick of rubbish like Milone getting picked and Buchanan and now we are rewarding PERFORMANCE. Our culture of a lack of accountability at selections has cost us for years and years in my opinion.

Looks like he has no time for the boys club of mates being picked every week. If this is the start of a cultural change I am all for it. If Taylor won't make the hard calls well done Oneill for demanding it.

Despite the facetiousness, he actually believed it at a time that suited him.

Cmon GNR4 …....

I have given you a great platform here given you believe there is an agenda to rail road Taylor from within the club...

I gave credit to Oneill at the time for trying to stop a culture of picking under performing players which had been going on for years. Since then I have credited Taylor and taylor alone on several occasions for his selections in a win against Brisbane and Souths.

However you choose to ignore that, i wonder why?

Give it up GNR you tool, isn't this the same thing you're harping on about in another thread

News flash GNR

Not everyone has the same opinion as you.

Its funny how you and your mates resort to name calling or this when people dont agree with you

childish.

What am i saying now that goes against the possible agenda i mentioned. You're trying to turn the tables and you're failing miserably.

Did he not call me a tool first

Or does that not count because he agrees with you.

GNR this is what I said in the thread "Halatau starting hooker v Souths"

"At the end of the day we won the game, you you have to give credit to the coach for his selection"

I suppose I should have mentioned Oneill right??

Would have suited my "agenda" against JT?

In accordance with the subtle humour in this thread.
I can see where it's all gone wrong.
The **PIZZA's** maybe some wanted, pan base and only got thin base. :bulb:
This would surely have caused grumblings from some players …...
From their stomachs....
