Opinions of players

Is there any players who are generally thought of one way that you simply do not agree with?

For example;
Nathan Hindmarsh - He is generally well liked, thought of as a nice guy and a hard working tackle machine.
Personally, from what I have seen in interviews - he doesn't seem like a nice guy at all, he is sarcastic & unlikeable. He isn't impressive on field either and doesn't do much at all.

Is there any other players that get a lot of media or fan attention that you believe don't deserve it?

Ohhh I think a lot of people are going to mention a number 9 that is playing for NSW tonight…

Besides him I'd say Ben Teo and Kurt Gidley

Hindmarsh comes across as kind of a tool…but maybe thats only coz i hate Parra...i think Chris Sandow is slowly turning into a media darling...watching the Rabbits-Sharks game a few weeks ago n listening to Freddy n Joey giggling like a couple schoolgirls over Sandow acting like a tool made me wanna throw up

Darius Boyd is affectionately known around my workplace as "Darius Tard" due to the completely retarded interview he gave a couple of years ago, where he apparently was trying to break some sort of in club record for least number of words in an interview - he came across as a precocious little dweeb.

My two most overated and annoying players that I dislike for the free run they always seem to get is Ennis and Pearce.

Niether are very good at all yet are always talked up as saviours.

I agree that Hindy does come across as a knob in interviews or when asked for an opinion as well.

Hindmarsh is an arse, I have no respect for him whatsoever.

On field: He's apparently a top flight player when all he does is make 30-40 tackles a game, 75% of which he's third man in. Lacks penetration when hitting the line and apparently "leads by example," which has evidenced Parramatta falling to pieces in the last few years, notwithstanding 2009 where Hayne & Mateo carried them to the GF. He fails to lead their forwards in any measure.

Off field: a sarcastic and somewhat narcissistic swine.

Hellz yeah!
So happy others see this & I'm not the only one.
People I talk to in real life think he is the nicest guy in league, a legend, a leader, family man, etc etc…
He just doesn't seem like he's built like that from what I have seen, he might like to be portrayed like that but there is no way he is the nicest guy in league, he is a D!#K

I have had an irrational hatred for Luke Burt for about 6 years.

Why?
He lives the next suburb over from me.
He is unbelievably average, top 3 most boring wingers in the comp.
I mentioned in the other thread… Mitch Brown > Luke Burt
He & Hindmarsh will more than likely retire / head to ESL soon.

Really? He had a bit of fun at the expense of the media. I'm not against that, considering how quickly they can turn on players.

Each to their own though

Further to my comment on Hindmarsh, I feel that Jarryd Hayne has probably spent a lot of time with him as I am convinced he is Hindmarsh Jr in the way that he carries himself on and off the field. Sporadic and grubby on the field, and an full-of-himself tosser off of it.

And then there's he who shall not be named playing in the #9 jersey tonight for the Blues.

Sure is!…actually I find Hindy is more like a grub!.

Being a NRL player is not easy, Every one feels that the know you and everyone only wants to talk about the same thing and give you their opinions.

Add to that the $$$$ and the fact that they are virtually waited on hand and foot for the time they are in the spotlight doesn't help to keep any real perspective.

I too cant stand Hindmarsh, A comment he made just after the 2005 grand final that **he didnt even ewatch the game and as if the Tigers deserved it h**ave left an impression of bitterness.

In general though, We need to cut the guys some slack I think in most cases…

Hate Sandow.

Cameron Smith is a great player and seems to be held in high regard as a person, but i see him as one of the grubbiest players in the game

Agree dont like Chris Sandow and i like lurt burt even more now he missed that sitter of goal in the parra v wests tigers game at parra stadium last year.

Hindmarsh and I would have been high school enemies for sure. I can imagine fighting with him at the bike racks after school. A major tool.

How do you know MacDougall isn't one and a half times the size of Hindmarsh? Or a Golden Gloves champion?
