Whats the deal with this?
How is Hayne allowed to play for Fiji, but then all of a sudden when he is in the right form and picked is allowed to change and play for Australia and NSW??
Same with Aiden Guerra - pledges allegiance to Italy and now he can play for QLD?
Why is this not the same for Kiwis? Why can't they then too play for NZL and then Origin?
If you can play for Italy or Fiji (Uate is another) then come back and play origin from those nations why can't anyone from NZL? Shame really as I would love to see SBW, Johnson, Matulino etc in the origin arena

Why can't they New Zealand play their own Origin

North Island v South Island

And then the two winners play off ie NSW v South Island

Because that's like NSW vs Victoria, north island would dominate and it wouldn't even be a contest.

And don't bring up qld vs NSW and say it's not a contest haha

Pacman, New Zealand are not an emerging nation.

Australian players with Italian, Fijian heritage etc are given leniency to go play for those country's to help development in those areas.

After seeing the Qld side I'm even more convinced that Woods won't get picked

Tamou and Gallen will be props

Why Happy? Surely with Fifita gone, Woods will at least get a bench spot, or maybe they could go with Grant and Tolman on the bench?

They won't bother with any props on the bench as they will have four possible props as starters Gallen ,Tamou ,Merrin and Creagh

Look at the Qld side , its all about mobility and impact off the bench

If Woods isn't a starter , he won't be in the side

Look I'm not happy about it , but imo that's what will happen

And they are claiming that the halves will be Hodgkinson and Reynolds so Patty misses out as well

So Farah is the only player in Game 1

Well Woods should be a chance - Tamou is not worth a stamp.

Depends if the selectors want to have a chance of winning it.

Same for Pearce.

Ok I see your reasoning there, but do you really think they will choose Merrin and Creagh? God they've done nothing to deserve a call up! I thought NSW got rid of Creagh before the last series. Scott, Sims, Hoffman, Tolman and Grant are all playing far better than those guys. I really hate the Gallen at prop idea, also, so I hope they don't go with that - he's a backrower pure and simple.

If you want the game to advance in emerging nations you need to allow players not selected for Australia to represent the emerging nations.
By the same token if you allow the kiwis in, you relegate the kiwi team to less importance and make a mockery of the state vs state, mate vs mate mentality.
For the kiwis maybe Auckland vs the rest might almost work…mind you I can't see the same pride in a concept where one team is the rest, but at least the teams would be approximately even

Phew that's better! I know you're a Queenslander and all and would probably like it that way, but I shudder at the thought of Creagh lining up for us again

Back to NSW….I'm more convinced now that with a backline not as good as Qld's, our forwards really need to bend back the Qld pack to have a chance of winning.

So lets look at 8-10 of the most destructive blokes we can find to do that. Won't include Farah as hooker/dummy half is more of a creative role and we know farah will be in the side....this is about the monsters around him.

1\. Gallen
2\. Tariq Sims
3\. Tamou
4\. Grant
5\. Williams
6\. Watmough
7.Kite
8.King
9.Woods
10\. Lewis

I've assumed fifita & cordner & bird are unavailable.

Should anyone else be added to that list.

I like Gallen in the Back row & Woods starting, Leave Creagh right out of the Team. Creagh gives nothing & is just to light in my opinion. The more i look @ n s w we have big problems.
