Origin Time

I know i'm looking ahead but will be interesting to see how our side is affected by Origin this year and what players will be missing from sides we play.

In my opinion we could be missing Farah depending on the form of Ennis, Galloway could possibly get a bench spot and Tuqiri based on injuries to younger guys ahead of him. I don't think Lawrence will get picked as I think Jennings, J.Morris and Cooper will get considered before him.

During Origin 1 we play Newcastle minus rep players. Looks like its only going to be Gidley you would think but depends on how he goes with his injury and if his form is up to scratch. Mullen is unlikely although Cross could be a chance

Origin 2 we have the bye

Origin 3 we play Brisbane up at Suncorp minus Origin stars I can already here people yelling out Baby Broncos now. The big one will be Lockyer if he decides to carry on with Rep footy. Thaiday and Folau are definites.

This period could prove crucial to our finals charge and realistically we should be winning both of these encounters

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuiaki (he should be back by then)
3\. Ayshford (ditto Tuiaki)
4\. Daniella
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Gibbs
9\. Fitzhenry
10\. Cayless
11\. Ellis
12\. Fulton
13\. Heighington

14\. Flanagan
15\. Fifita
16\. Moors
17\. Payten

that's what we'd probably look like if all the guys in contention get picked.

The form of Ennis. Isn't it ridiculous that this even matters. What the hell has Ennis ever done to even be considered an Origin player? Other than cry in the media, of course. It's like QLD mulling over whether to pick Thurston or Sandow.

Anyway, if things were legit, we'd be missing at least 4 players come Origin time, in Farah, Galloway, Lawrence and Tuqiri.

But seeing as though QLD selectors seem to have a brain, where as ours don't, we'll only be missing Lote.

Galloway on the bench?

if you said that last year i'd agree, but he's still trying to regain confidence after that knee injury he sustained last season

Although Lawrence probably won't get a spot in the starting line up, i believe he runs riot over people like matt cooper, anthony quinn etc.

I don't reckon Farah will play Origin 1 because they'll want to give Ennis a second chance at hooker.

We could have up to 4 out - 2 backs and 2 forwards. A real chance for young guns to impress. Hopefully TNT is back by then.

Farah at this stage has it all over Ennis. Lawrence is a definite chance and Galloway should be picked. He didn't dominate against the Raiders but we'll see an improved performance from him against the Cowboys this week. Lote will probably get a wing spot for Qld if he keeps his form up.

I'm not counting on Tuiaki being ready to play by origin time either.

If anyone watched the Dogs game last night, Ennis proved he is anything but an origin hooker.

When the tigers are down, Robbie busts his gut out and forces the issue. Sometimes it doesn't come off, but he is definitely good for a try or assist.

Last night when the dogs were down, Ennis was good for 4 penalties, passes to no one and dropped balls.

Farah's Man of the Match efforts on Sunday in a 31-point comeback definitely would've helped his chances.

Surely we would have a better backup hooker than Fitzhenry if Farah were to get picked?

I agree TSTS Farah should be picked over Ennis but the selectors love sticking with incumbents. Lawrence will need to rely on a few injuries but I would still pick J.Morris and Jennings as centres at this stage tyring to remove my bias as Lawry is one of my faves and would be great at Origin level

Citizen Club- Fair call on Galloway lets see how he goes over the next month and who will Lote be competing with for wing spots? My guess would be Boyd, Folau and Tate. I've got a feeling we will be seeing the big fella back at Origin Level if Boyd and Folau are injured as Slater has fullback locked up and you would think Inglis and Tonga will be the centres

we will only be missing Farah for SOO. Maybe Lawrence and Lote. Thats it. City v Country will see more players absent. Galloway, Heighinton, Lawrence for sure, Gibbs maybe, Fulton maybe. Moltzen might get a run there as well. NSW have no halves at SOO level so he might get a run for city/country…..whatever he is.

Lawrences selection chances depend upon who gets final say. Bellamy picks, Lawrence is picked. The muppets Daley and Fulton are involved than Cooper & Scott will be picked with a Morris on each wing and Jennings left out because of "injury concerns"

Jennings has not been setting the world on fire this season so far, yesterday was his first try if I recall. He is not an oustanding defensive player, nor does his outside man score many tries so his praises rely solely on his ability to cross the line. With this in mind, I would like to think Lawrence has the edge - even if he ends up on the wing.

Sauce needs to lift over the next few rounds otherwise he will miss out. Looked a bit ordinary on Sunday for mine - and I think is being outplayed by Gibbs.

Ennis should not even be considered for an Origin spot based on his season so far.

Ennis showed last night that he dissapears and won't even step out of dummy half while the pressure is on. He just shovelled it to players to get samashed. Never put any doubt by stepping out of DH before passing until very late in the game when the Souths pack tired.

He is a utter myth

Couldn't have said it better myself. The Ennis lovers keep saying the same thing over and over again, Farah choked in Origin and Ennis didn't.

Well I would have liked to have seen Ennis play in game two. I am not for one minute saying Farah played well, he didn't, he was terrible. But the team performance overall was well below par and Ennis wouldn't have made a single shred of difference. He looks an OK player at best when his team is working well. As shown last night again, when that isn't happening he's got nothing.

Farah can never be accused of being a passenger, unlike Ennis.

If Ennis is even considered for origin by anyone regardless of who they are, they are deadset kidding themselves.

With Hodges out I think you will see Inglis and Folau/Tonga as the centres and Tuqiri is a big chance to take a wing position. Can't see them playing Tonga as a wing so if he isnt a centre then he wont be there. Not sure who they would take as another winger though.

In my opinion Lawrence will play origin this year but I think it will be as a winger and he will tear it up with the extra space. The Morris twins will take up one sides wing/centre combination and Jennings and Lawrence taking up the other side.

I still think Sauce has to hit his straps but with more game time leading into origin he will pick himself up a bench spot and if Farah doesn't get picked in front of Ennis, well that will do me…Ennis pfft!!

If Folau is fit then they will probably go with Inglis and Tonga as the centre combo with Folau on the wing as thats where he has played all his Origin matches. The other wing spot could be interesting, Lote is a lot more dangerous but Boyd or Tate could snag the spot ahead of him because they have been there recently

I think Lawrence is a good chance, he has played some good matches against Bellamy's Storm, Joey Johns who is an assistant coach has a big wrap on him. He's a strong defender (Which the selector's and coaching staff like in Origin) has speed, is strong and a good hole runner which is exactly what they normally look for in Origin.

Galloway is a good chance as well, NSW don't have a lot of depth in the front row (Please dont pick White, Perry, Kite or Bailey!!) so some strong performance's should at least get him a bench spot, I think he'll lift for Origin as well.

With Farah, we all know he is way better then Ennis, but with this perception that Ennis is tough and made for Origin, and with Dinosaur selectors who believe that, like that old fashion mongrel over skill, plus Daley and his love in for Ennis, its going to be difficult for Farah.
