Geez I think it's hard to blame all the injuries on Sheens. How is he supposed to stop them happening?

when we did not chase a half when loui got punted and nail mason as a back up prop , big red is always out groat average but still learning , cashmere average , bmm now out ,

Coaching liabiliyy includes coaching staff, conditioning we must have one of the worst injury record out of most teams.
My opinion lawrence will never be the same player.

No one disagrees with Gibbs.

I'm not convince Lawrence won't get back to his best, he looked to have some pace back with his line break but Bowen made him look slow. I understand it's not the same injury by any means, but Bowen regained his speed.. Heres hoping rowdy can too. His defense is still solid. There has sometimes been talk about a move to the forwards for Lawrence, maybe if he doesn't get his speed back it could be worth looking at.

We have always seemed pretty unlucky with injuries. There's a small part of me wondering how much of it has been bad luck or bad conditioning.

I'm a fan of sheens most of the time, but concede we need a change, I would just prefer sheens over any other coach that is unemployed. I would stick with him until we can upgrade.

Are you guys for real?

Who is the last footballer you saw smoke Matty Bowen at fullback? The bloke is lightning over a short distance, which is all a fullback needs to be. Lawrence hit the burners to the outside and Bowen matched him; Coote last week could not.

Lawrence to me is looking good. He just got injured.

And we can turn this all around. Gibbs is a great defensive player but not as big a loss as stated in this thread. Our prop rotation is pretty good. Bell, Woods and Galloway are all great players.

Our downfall began in Round one in my opinion with Tedesco's injury. No that's not a rap on how good the kid is but look at the steady stream of injuries we've had this season. They just haven't stopped. It's not an excuse for losing games, it never is. But if you look at the top sides from each season. Rarely will there be a case of a side with a lengthy injury toll who has featured well that year. For us, the toll has never stopped. Just when it looked like it was subsiding, it blew out once more.

Last night virtually confirmed what most of us probably had been thinking for a while now. It's just not our year to shine. Perhaps we will still make the 8 but nothing short of a miracle see us go much further than that.

The injuries this year have ruined our season. The injury toll needs to be looked at, not sure what the problem is maybe its the 4 hours of warm up before a game.
Maybe the young guys push themselves so hard like Sirro and Teddy to make NRL that they are just an injury waiting to happen.
Don't know maybe it just looks bad because its our club and other clubs have the same issues and that is just football in 2012.

That's what I meant.
Excuse my missing D in convinced.
Bowen is super quick. And Lawrence looked quick until Bowen got near him. There's been some talk he won't get back to his best, but I think he could.

Rowdy hurt himself when he tried to run around Bowen, that is part the reason Bowen caught him,Rowdy will be back as good as ever,he was showing good signs,at least its not his hammy, thats a plus I supppose.

I think the coaching staff must bear some responsibility for the injuries. I'd be shocked if any club has had more injuries then we have over the last 5 years.

I remember saints would always have terrible injuries under Nathan brown when Paul Mcgregor was the strength and conditioning coach.

Bennett comes in and brings a whole new set of staff, they have basically no injuries for 3 years straight.

All our coaching staff have been at the club, it's a jobs for the boys scenerio. Not saying they are the cause but it's worth looking at.

Our down fall started on mad monday last year when we lost the only no7 in the club Sheens had any faith in. Since than its all gone pear shape. Benji dosnt have the skills to drive a top class NRL side around the paddock and we will never know if Moltzen,Humble or Miller had the required skills because they were never given a fair crack. To be fair on Sheens, it was way to late to be trying to recruit a no7 to replace Lui when he was shown the door so his hands were tied to some extent. Just got me beat why he is not trying to fix the problem now that it is obvious to even blind freddy that Benji is not a seven.

Their are other problems, but to win the comp you need a great no7 and a good no6 or visa versa and that is not the case with us.

All teams get injuries, it's about who those injuries strike that makes the difference. We've lost some important players for lengthy periods and when we get one back we loose two more.

The dogs have had a fair few injuries however I'd hardly say Steve turner is a important part of that teams success. Having lost keating for a few weeks and I think hodgkinson also there will be some pressure on josh Reynolds and who ever comes in to really stand up and take control, or the dogs could drop a few games over the coming weeks.

Guess the point I'm trying to make is our injuries have struck right across the park there wouldn't be to many who have played every game this year. Then look to other teams and see how many have played all games. The only ones I can come up with are woods and Benji maybe ayshford.

Mate all teams have injuries thats why it is important to win your early season games to get points in the bank to give you a buffer at the back end of the year when injuries tend to kick in and we NEVER go well early in the season and we are paying the price for it now.

Next year this group will be a year older, no Ellis,no n07 so hard to see things getting better. We need new ideas
