Our halves this week

Not a fan of manufactured ones. I know with Marshall and Anasta out it makes it difficult. However Moltzen has been a fullback for most of the past 3 seasons? Why is he all of a sudden a halfback ahead of Miller? Who is a specialist halfback. I have not seen any real kicking game or passing game from Moltzen, and then you have Sironen who again looks to be more of a ball runner with no real kicking game or threatening passing game.

If Miller cannot get a game this week he may as well just quit the club. I think its a joke unless there is something we don't know about. He was quiet the first month however this would have been an opportunity to run the team without Marshall dominating.

I just think we will be a mess this week. Molten always drifts in and out of games, and Sironen is still learning. Farah will have to do the kicking, the organising the passing and set up the tries. I might be wrong, and I hope i am but I like the Broncos 13+. I know we have been forced to make changes and im happy that Tedesco is at fullback, however why do our coaches insist on making manufactured halfbacks. It does not work at this level.

Marshall running things? Have u not been watching this season it's been the Farah show all year so far! Would like to c miller / Moltzen combo but I don't think farah rates him. Not that it should matter he should just concentrate on being a dummy half .

I said in the "Official Team" thread that I was happy with the team. But I agree, it would have been a great opportunity for Miller this week. I was hoping for:
13 Sironen
7 Miller
6 Moltzen
1 Tedesco

Hopefully the decision to go with Miller/Sironen works out to be a great one for this week.

I think he needed more time. It wouldn't be easy playing with benji

I think its hilarious how Miller had his chance and failed to take it according to some. What did he get a month?!

Whilst the likes of Moltzen, Lawrence, Asyhford, Utai, Blair and co get 2-3 seasons of chances and still don't resemble anything like consistent first graders. Anyway.

Im not really even a MIller fn to be honest. However Im a fan of playing a halfback at halfback. This week would have been a nice opportunity for him to dominate the play calls and play like a true half. However it goes to the teachers pet Moltzen who has been ousted from his position yet picks up another key position without warrenting it.

Couldn't agree more Eddie. I was an early fan of Millers but became a doubter last year when he failed to regularly dominate at NYC level. However, I still believe he has the skills to be a top class half and feel he deserved a longer go.

It's clear to me that Potter is investing in Brooks.

Yup; I too find it insane that Miller has been treated the way he has. I just don't get it, especially now that we are struggling for a halfback (as if Anasta was really one).

I still think Miller showed enough to not be dropped, even though he has so many doubters here. Given more time he could be something very good. The only reason I'm not really annoyed by this is because I keep hearing about how amazing this Brooks kid is, so I assume he's our future there.

A Miller and Sirro combo would have been the best way to go at this time.

Our kicking game is going to be a nightmare this week. And obviously our creativity in attack.

Guys, Potter said this was always a fair chance of happening, when he dropped Miller. He recognises that Miller has things he needs to develop in his game and obviously felt he'd be better served in the long run playing some state cup and doing his development there. I do admit I thought Potter's hands may've been forced with Miller this week but no, he's gone with Moltz.

The impression I got from Potter was that Miller remains in his plans long term, However, that's complicated by the rise of Luke Brooks below him who this time next year could well be considered a better first grade option that Miller. Honestly, I think Miller needs to find something this year, otherwise it could be too late for him then.

LUKE BROOKS WAS A STANDOUT IN THE ORIGIN GAME LAST WEEKEND. GREAT LATERAL VISION AND GOOD DECISION MAKER. HE DIDNT SCORE ANY TRIES UNLIKE CORNISH BUT HE SURE MADE EVERYONE DID.

Stop yelling!….......... I would have thought Miller may have been given the chance, especially with no Benji there, play him until Benji is back and if he's not done a good enough job, then sorry Miller, your time at the Wests Tigers looks to be over, 1st grade that is. Unfortunatley he will leave the club and probably be very successful somewhere else or he could falter and be playing Qld cup for the remainder of his career.

Moltzen a maufactured half? Lol

Why is this funny, Moltzen doesn't have any attributes of a halfback. He is a ball runner, that's it. No kicking game, no creativity, limited passing game etc.

So yes, he's a manufactured halfback.

We will struggle tomorrow night because Farah is the only player on the field with a creative bone in his body. Sironen and Moltzen don't have a kicking game.

Four rounds. That's his chance? You're kidding. What about Lawrence? What about Moltzen? How many chances have they had? They invariably stuff up and cost us points or games yet keep getting picked, In fact, in the case of Messiah Moltzen, he gets his opportunity to show how inept he is a whole lot of positions. Unfathomable.

I think you might have this wrong. I sort of agree with you in that he is primarily a ball runner and he isn't really creative but he can pass the ball, he does have a good long boot on him and he can make a bust in the halves.

I think the halves are where he is best suited.

People always bring this up but i fail how to see how its an indication that he has a kicking game. For example Greg Inglis would have just about the biggest boot in the competition yet you wouldn't say he has a kicking game

Well he kicked plenty in the under 20's….and it was usually a long kick that found space.....hence the term,he has a long, good boot on him.

Its not rocket science.

Where has it been in fg?

Well….Bunji and Farah do most of the kicking.

I expect you will see some tonight.

He did do a few belters in the city country game that were large and found space.

I rest my case. The halves were totally awful, kicking game pathetic, organising pathetic, no passing game. It was laughable to be honest. Farah said up the 2 tries he scored like i thought would have to happen.

Pick a halfback at halfback please. How hard is it. Miller will do for now.
