@bonstonker said:we have 2 good starting props, but the backrow is weak.
we have nothing on the edges.
unfortunately for us,we lost simon dwyer.he was turning into a weapon on the edge with good lines and tackle breaking ability.
with ellis on the other edge and rhino the workhorse you had a balanced back row, with all 3 ready to do the tough yards out of our end.
today we have blair who hides behind the line, fulton who gets smashed most times coming out of our end and anasta who's best work is done inside the opposition 20.
we have now resorted to one out runs by backs and props.
it's tough to play the patient grinding game when your squad isn't built for it.
a tough position to be in if you are the new coach.
some potential on the bench in the backrow, but too light at prop.
going to be hard to be consistent with our forwards, especially when they are not noted as a defensive unit that can pressure you into mistakes.
I think you raise a great point, we lost Dwyer who I firmly believe had the most potential of almost any back rower in the comp, and he was just finding consistency. That threw off our balance in 2012\. Ultimately I'm sure the club though Blair would address this gap but it went pear shaped. Now it's up to eddy and bodene to provide that drive, or pray Blair finds some form before he becomes Sam Harris version 2\. Season hasn't started yet so let's hope that new balance in the pack may be found.
