OUR RESPONSE

[Player_XXX]

First I would like to start by saying that I never thought that I would find so many cowards hiding in one place. You so called Weststigers supporters who get on the forum and do nothing but find ways and reasons to put down us players and the coaching staff. I had heard that this forum existed for a while but was never too bothered to get on and have a look until a friend of mine told me what some of you where writing. As a player I probably shouldn't care because I'm pretty confident that 99% of the people writing this shit have never put on a football boot, let alone been involved with a professional club before. So what I thought I would do is clear up some rumors that I have been reading and and stick up for my team mates and coaches. So here I go.

1\. Tim sheens, probably the best thing that has happened to the WestsTigers. I have Been coached by numerous coaches and he is by far the best. He knows how to get the best of you and finds a way to get us through the tough times ( like now). Sure he can be a little out there but hey how many titles and champions players has he been apart of. I can't believe how many of you like to praise when he has us winning and then stab him in the back with an axe when we aren't. Then when you have rubbished the coach you start on his staff. Skando has been mentioned on a few occasions, about if he has the team fit enough. A lot of you have short memories. Last year he came in and replaced Folksey in Rnd 10 as S&C while doing the 20's. From then we made it all they way to the semis no one questioned his ability then. If there is one thing I can guarantee is that we are fitter and stronger than last year. And if you think he is not tough on us I dare you to come to one of his session and not put in. Not only is he a good S&C but a good mentor to the young forwards.
Steve Georgallis. He is new to the tigers and has made an instant impact on me and the way we defend. Sure it doesn't seem that way now, but he can only do so much off the field. The players need to take some responsibility as well.

Now over to me and the players sure we have been under performing. You think we don't know that. But what we need is your support not your shit criticism. Some of the shit that gets thrown around on this forum is unbelievable. The rumors about in club fighting and so on is all bullshit.
To finish off my rant what I propose is that if you want to bag someone grow some balls and put a face on your post so next time you ask me or the other boys to have a photo or sign an autograph. We will know exactly who you are.
Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to truthfully answer them.
To all you LOYAL supporters thanks for sticking by us and I promise we are doing everything to get our season back on track.

Nice post and some fair points you make, but if you asked 99% of the people im sure they love the tigers and thats why they are dissappointed.. Remember We buy the merch, turn up to games, pay for foxtel, have played as kids etc etc. alot might not be criticism thats fair, but quite a bit is so cop it sweet or maybe get a thicker skin, and if you start by calling everyone a bunch of cowards you aint exactly going to get people onside.

Dont tar everyone on here with the same brush. Yes there have been some ludicrous posts made on here this year so far, however Monday nights game did vindicate a lot of them.

For the most part we are a very passionate group who make it to a lot of games. There are people from all over the country on here who make it to games.

If you are a player i would suggest not reading these forums too often. They are for discussion - from both sides and in saying so you are going to read some negative stuff.

Agree. If this is genuine it's refreshing to hear a non-sanitised response from a player. Fans are disappointed but players are feeling it. Good luck on Sunday (or next Friday if you happen to be wrongfully suspended at the moment).

if this is a player which i dont believe it is then ive been a member for 15 years (balmain previously) and my small business has previously been a sponsor of the tigers and poured nearly $10k into the joint

without people like me you dont have a job. ill say what i want, harden up.

if i dont perform at work my family doesnt eat, if your biggest problem is that some 'faceless cowards' call you soft then your doing ok

Player XXX you should check out the number of forum members that post on this site. They do so because they have passion for the club and the players. Most of us have not been blessed with the talent that someone needs to make it in the NRL, and that is nothing to be ashamed of and doesn't make any one of us less passionate.

To be honest I thought the way Matty Johns ambushed Robbie on NRL on Fox was unfair, but in truth he is only saying what everyone else in the media and identities in the game are saying. We have never had a consistent team. Not like the dogs, storm or the broncos. Sure we support a team blessed with talent that can put in a month or two of solid performances, but should that be enough to win a comp?

I would rather have opposition teams fear playing the tigers and come 5th every year. The performances that were put in in the second halves against Manly, the Dragons and Canberra were poor to say the least and as such the players deserve the criticism they have received.

Mate, I am as passionate a Tigers supporter as the next guy - and I would be honoured if you would pose in a photograph with me or sign an authograph….I still have Russell Gartners.

Well said Stryker. I hope they keep reading. Yeah some things might upset some, but they will also find out good or bad, how much us WT junkies are addicted.

As someone said though most people on here love the club (big Damon and balmain bug excluded) just some get overly passionate and excessiVe

Look forward to hearing more from you and I for one would be happy to meet face to face at games and always am -I love the tigers and I know that each and everyone of you put in every week even if it doesn't always come off

Also in support of player xxx -he said the players need your support and that we have great coaches and that the stories on this forum of infighting etc were shit -he didn't say people couldn't have opinions just indicated they should be respectful not make personal attacks or accusations without some truth and I for one agree

We are all fans here supporting the likes of you - and yes - criticising you when the need arises. However, I have been around long enough to know that you are probably only another "wise-cracking" forum member trying to stir the kind of sh*te you are referring to in your post.

If you really are one of our players, then stop wasting your time on this forum. Pull your finger out at training and perform on the paddock - that is the only way of earning our respect on this forum.

Agreed. Whilst he makes some fair points, i would've thought a player would be thicker skinned than this. They cop a lot worse on the field after all. That said though, the constant rumours of this and that are frustrating for us all.

Remember that a lot of us are die hard fans who spent the whole off season champing at the bit to see our wonderful team start as favourites.
If you don't think the start of 2012 has been disappointing then I fear we are all in for a long, sad season.
