Our salary cap situation

Ok, I understand that WT have been given some leeway in the salary cap so they can put a team on the park. Can someone enlighten me as to how this works. Will this allow Potter to continue running players like Nofolauma and Simona if their performance warrants it, or will they have to be dropped once regular first graders become available?

My understanding is once your 2nd tier cap has been used thats it unless you can't field 17 players from within your top squad you can't call on anymore 2nd tier players

As in Penriths case the same as ours,when your 2nd tier cap is full,you ask for dispension in the case of Moylan,they had no fullback.
Moylan plays until a viable fullback from the top 25 recovers from injury and has a run in reggies(Wes and Mansour returned),then Moylan has to go back to the lower grades.

I know it makes for a ridiculous scenario but I don't see how the 1st tier cap works without a 2nd tier cap.

99% sure Simona is in the top 25\. Nofoaluma i'm not sure about though.

I've got to say though, i'm filthy on the nrl for their policing on the 2nd tier cap. To know it hasn't been upgraded to fall in line with the salary cap in quite a few years is unacceptable from the nrl. It's another piece of amateur administration. It's just not good enough. Thankfully though now the nrl will sort this out and in future I think they need to pay wee bit more attention to it.

I actually thought that ALL players we have used this year were top 25, including Spence, Sue, Meaney, Ava. I might be wrong about one or two?

They are all contracted players , but some are 2nd tier players

So if I'm reading this correctly, if we have a replacement player who is performing better than the injured player ever did, all we have to do is make sure the injured player stays injured?

Not sure if Nofo is top 25 but he was on the team poster, if that means anything

nofo got signed for 2 more years lasy year. 100% he's part of 25.

we've used 30 players this year, so 5 of them must've been part of the second tier im guessing
i think 375Kis the limit.. although 73K each does make sense.

although, not sure about what happened with miller- maybe the english club paid his salary for all of this year and someone else got promoted to the top 25?

Lote and groat are apart of top 25, still to walk on the field in firsts,

I wonder how that comes into calculations?

They said Penrith will have to get the OK every week for Moylan to play.

We are probably in a similar situation. However with so many of the top25 injured its either the NRL agree or we fail to field a team.

Does anyone know how $$$ we will have to spend given the players we have offloaded so far. Hypothetically, if we can get rid of Anasta, Moltzen, Blair (even if we have to pay out some of his contract), then roughly how much will be available? Surely someone out there has crunched the numbers???
