this is going to be one long season and if we dont get a new coach and 20 new players for next season we will be no better off again.

This club was dopey enough to give two unproved rookies, the one sided contract that they did, and now have no choice but to hand the money over to them even if the club decided that they weren't worth even half of it.

The option is in their favour, no matter how stupid that was
The only way out is if another club offers them more, ( and they take it) and it's not going to be easy to find another club that is also that stupid.
Personally I'd father keep Littlejohn and look for another 5/8, as I think that they haven't developed anywhere they should have to be given that sort of money.
Every excuse has been made for them, but the excuses are running out

Again toughness. 1st couple of games they played this year both were putting their bodies on the line and having a go in defence. Last couple of weeks they have been back to arm grabbing and half hearted attempts. There are not many 1st graders who are as big a defensive liability.

I agree BP that Taylor has picked some strange sides but who, apart from JAC, Chee-Kam and Edwards, could he pick? Unfortunately because we've let Martin go to the Panthers, we really need to keep Brooks and dropping him at this stage of the contract negotiations would not help.

Why are we grouping Moses in with Brooks all the time? He is miles ahead in development, talent, desire to win etc. He did not play that badly yesterday and if he had decent service from dummy half he may be able to do something more creative, like he did in the first two games.

Harvey if you think Moses did not put his body on the line yesterday (or in fact any game) you need to re-watch the games again.

Moses should be the play maker and I would be putting Littlejohn with him to steady the ship. Brooks to NSW Cup to get it together - if he doesn't want to put in the effort to improve - Bye.

Does Taylor have to run his team selections by anybody on a weekly basis? I'm assuming overall he's answerable to the general manager and the board, but what week by week?

Cherrington is the future, invest in him we look like we have spark whenever he is on the pitch. Not a solid a defender like Farah, but offers more spark in attack. CB i think your onto it except for Sironen.

I agree that defensively Farah still has it DEFENSIVELY and Lock is the Perfect position for him as he would be used to tighten the ruck area…..attack wise to Pedestrian and is to slow.

If Cherrington doesn't see much game time ? he will be another Te Marie Martin story .

Sironen is ineffective and gives away dumb penalties....his good for nothing.

JLJ has to be our half , if anything a wake up call that Brooks form is not worthy but then again that will never happen he never went through with the Farah Reserve Grade threat , players laugh at JT as he hasn't got the respect and toughness . He rewards below average performances with 1st Grade games week in week out .

Sorry to be a geek, but on the rankin incident…

When a professional footballer sees an unexpected footy flying out of the corner of his eye it is probably more distracting to them than it would be to us. Im sure from a neuropsych point of view that a footballers brain would process that type of sensory information differently to a person who has never trained or played full-time.

I'm not sure what effect that actually had on him dropping it, but I was thinking at the time that it is pretty much the same as a hazard perception test for a driver or pilot. Routine task, unexpected complication, result. This is fine for a scientific experiment but really shouldn't be allowed at nrl level, where people (if that's what Badger is) can control outcomes to impact results and wagering payouts.

I would have Ballin at hooker when his fit and Farah at Lock , i would also get Farah defending next to Brooks .

I cant agree. Two very small guys defending in the middle would only worsen our defense. Dont forget no-one makes one on tackles in the middle, hes helped by larger blokes around him to get the attacker down.
Now, I dont think should be dropped atm, but when he no longer is our best hooking option then I think he has to go all together.
