Paul Crawley earlier this week...

"In the forwards the mail is Russell Packer is the fittest he has been for some time"

lol earlier this week. Wow these fools must think their readers have the memory of goldfish. if it wasn't so influential on our game, their ineptitude would be amusing. But their comments are influential, as bigger idiots like Greenburg react to their nonsense.

Anyway, as it's probably a non-story, hope Packer gets fit, gets on the field, and leads by examples for our young bulls.

Our best recruit from the bunch was CT. No offence to CT cos he’s a competitor, but that says it all.

We got this update on him 3 weeks ago too..

Russell Packer (foot) is also progressing well as he increases his running load and responds well on-field as a result.

May have re-injured since?

I don't wish injury on the bloke to medically retire him, despite him being woefully underwhelming.

It might be a similar case to Tuiaki, his ankle responded ok to physio etc but every time he took to the training paddock to run, his ankle couldn't take the load. Russ might be in a similar boat.

Yea, seems to be the case. Thought it was his toe that was bothering him originally. I'm sure we'll hear more about it soon enough.

Same issues as Keefy had ??

Plenty of ways to get fit without doing extended periods of running.....

Madge himself told me he wasn’t sure if Packer would get over his injury at that was last year.

I don't trust the figures but those are really bad numbers. 1.5 million on two aging props. Packer was never even elite. Matulino was a good player.

I assume Hass would be on about 1/2 of those guys.

Crawley must be buggered from lighting all those candles after attending Confession at his local church each day.
Crawley: “Bless Me Father for I Have Sinned, each day I write BS and spread propaganda to the masses just to keep Rupert off my back”.
Priest: “Ok, bugger off - light 30 candles and say 20 Hail Mary’s and 20 Our Father’s .... see you again tomorrow, Btw did you bring my complimentary copy of the Daily Telegraph today?

If any of this is true we are back in trouble again in regards to spending a minimum amount of our salary cap

Lol, cmon Happy. You should know that no club will ever be in a position of being penalised for not spending the cap minimum. At the very minimum clubs will front load a player or two.

Madge knows how to clean up the mess Ivan has left. Medical retirements for all our expensive under performing players that Ivan signed 😂 surprised Josh Reynolds didn’t get one too

What a dud. The best thing he did for us was leave.

Whilst Cleary has to take alot of blame for our 4 dud signings of mats, packer, Reynolds and McQueen, he wasn't alone in signing off on their deals. Pascoe has to shoulder some blame here, blind Freddy knew we offered overs and too long a contract to these duds

Our future is with the young players from the juniors or purchased from outside the district. We have been caught too many times with expensive players who just don't work out either through injury or no performance.
