Interesting, I never thought that coaches would do that. I always saw taking players off as a bit of a hassle and a disadvantage, but I guess it could be used to their advantage in some circumstances. Hopefully the NRL continues to look at that stuff closely.
 
This brings back memories from the early days of the blood bin. I recall one game where Mario Fenech was bleeding, so had to come off for a free interchange. Every time he went back on, when he got tired, he'd fiddle with the bandaging and start bleeding again. Off he'd go for another free interchange.

Whenever there is a new rule introduced, clubs will find a way to work it to their advantage.
