Parramatta fans call for Mitchell Moses' axing after woeful first half performance

The underperforming Parramatta five-eighth endured a nightmare first half as his side looked doomed for another thrashing, missing every single target possible with the boot in a string of horrendous last-tackle options.

Unmotivated with his head down and nothing to play for, Moses' radar was completely off as he produced a poor grubber attempt before throwing up two wayward bombs, with one nudge almost going into the stands on the full.

Life didn't get any easier in the second half, with Moses sin-binned for taking out Luke Keary in a try-scoring opportunity. The entire playing group appeared demoralised with another wooden spoon in their pockets and their attention was focused on their post-season Bali getaways.

It was another night of frustration for aggrieved Eels fans who were hopeful of another finals berth on the back of a spectacular 2017 season, with no one expecting such a shocking collapse.

Moses was shouldering plenty of the blame for his dispirited showing that summed up a year to forget, with The Daily Telegraph's Buzz Rothfield even taking a cheeky jab. However the supporters weren't as friendly, calling for Eels coach Brad Arthur to bench Moses in the second half and to make a complete overhaul to their spine structure.

Moses found an ally in Queensland coach Kevin Walters who defended him against the social media critics, confident Moses could bounce back in the second period.

''It's just really a couple of kicks that have gone wrong,'' Walters said in Fox Sports commentary.

''There are some options for them to replace him, but I think at the moment it's 14-6\. Mitchell Moses is a very talented player, we've all kicked balls like that into the crowd - mine used to go sailing way into the crowd.

''He'd be disappointed with his effort in the first half but I don't think replacing him is the answer.''

The Roosters were raring to go with a minor premiership on the line, needing to win by 27 points to overtake Melbourne and claim their fourth title in six years.

Yes his football attitude was on display for all to see not only this game but many during the season, i believe he should have been sent to reserve grade earlier in the season and see how he reacted to this and to see how Norman went without the big head.

Get ready Parra, the "mental health" excuse is cocked and loaded when he asks for a release tomorrow.

He was coping on twitter last night like I've never seen before. Sure his trip to Vegas and bucket load of money he has leveraging wests tigers will help sooth the pain.

Stop posting this crap in the Wests Tigers section…

Thank you...

Plenty on here quick to bag Moses, who is playing behind the worst pack in the comp, and then stick up for Brooks for playing behind a pack that gets owned.

It's pretty much the same pack that took them to 4th last year. Mitchell Moses is a jerk and that is why people are always quick and happy to revel in his misfortune. Also, his rubbish efforts last night had little to do with lack of time or space due to a lack of go forward.

Everyone to their own - still a better player than any of our halves.

He does act like a spoilt brat but then again that's his personality. Ever since his days @ Holy Cross. I still think he is a very talented footy player who can cover full back and the halves.

Moses does pocess ability, however he is an ego tystical tosser who thinks he is so much better than others = wasted talent and a vast dislike throughout the nrl community…

He'll never be able to be the player his team mates WANT to play with, which is who all good coaches advise their players to try and be
