Pascoe on MMM: Brooks Confirmed, Deadline set for Ted/Woods.

I think Hooper over stepped the mark and masked it with passion. Pascoe did well to control himself.

If hooper had any knowledge of what he was talking about it could have actually been an informative interview rather than a bashing.

To suggest the others are gone and Pascoe created the "perfect storm" confirms he is a journo first and fan second.

Good to hear were looking for players but I would like to here that we have signed some players!

Hooper a jounrno….bwhahahahahahahaha...good one...

He's just praying he's right....

I also thought Pascoe handled a very difficult situation pretty well. It was a deadset ambush.
That goose of a reporter lost me when he said that all of the advances the club had made off the field were "just froth and bubble".
Well 'goose', they are not. They're absolutely fundamental in getting the organisation into a sustainable position.
We all want success on the field. That's obvious. And hopefully it will come over the next year or two. But without the 'backroom' in good order, success on the field will not be achievable over a prolonged period.
That's where we all want this club to be - playing finals footy EVERY year.

Exactly. You can paper over the football side, as we did quite well from 2009-2011 but you cant fake the finances. Get the finances right and the football will follow.

James Hooper is hammering Pascoe…. feel sorry for the bloke!

James Hooper has just told him "They're gone both Tedesco and Woods, have you come to reality they're leaving"

He's hammering him, Pascoe is being very professional....

Christian Nicolussi in the Telecrap today has shot down everything that Hooper has previously reported.

Any chance you can post the article BT?

Ok ok, you got me!

Rephrase;

A hack first, a fan second!

I actually read it in the paper copy first time in years that I have actually purchased the crap.

He just refuted the Brooks contract amount and Hooper said on fox the other day that the WT only put Moses contract after he had signed with Parra which was false
Also said that Moses wouldn't be playing for Parra unless a favourable outcome for WT in money or a player swap.

Pascoe handled himself well. Hooper was just trying to be sensationalist and came accross as petulant

Cheers mate, good to get that clarification. Hoops @ his creative writing best!

I already posted at length about what a fool I think James Hooper is. Hooper is the kind of idiot who gets half a story, or a tip, and asserts it aggressively as fact. He says things like "Tigers are XXX", "the contract is YYY".

If I was Pascoe I'd have torn into him, because he wouldn't have stood his ground. I can just imagine him saying "Who are you to presume to tell me, the CEO of the Wests Tigers, what the facts are in relation to my club? You hear gossip, you read what other people write, you make guesses and I can tell you that you are wrong more often than you are right. You will obviously continue to assert your opinions and rumours as facts, because you are belligerent and misinformed, but I expect that the fans will see through your nonsense."

Even in this call Hooper saying "You tabled an offer 3 million 3 years". Pascoe says "no we didn't". Hooper says "Alright $2.85M, 3 years". You don't get to keep guessing Hooper you idiot, you can't just assert a number as correct, they say "no it's wrong" and then you pull another number out of your BLANK.

And then he says "are you awake to the reality that Tedesco and Woods are leaving?" Oh I hope, if one or both of them re-sign, that someone brings that back to Hooper to munch on.

southerntiger is right, people who think they know better than the people in charge, because of pieces of information they absorb. You can't say things like "the board is incompetent" because very few people know what the board actually does, nor how well they are doing it. Your opinion alone does not make it so.

Hooper couldn't have come across any more fake in his "outrage" if he tried. Like any gutter journo, he knows how to sensationalise. I'm sure Pascoe knew this which is why he stayed measured throughout.

Pascoe should've asked Hooper …

"If you a certain that Woods and Tedesco are gone "...." Where are they going ".... "And how much did they sign for "

Hopper's a Maggot .

Hooper is correct in that the club has badly managed the situation. He is directing it at the CEO who is answerable but that's where it stops. I don't like disingenuous liars that don't state the fact we have had huge salary cap legacy issues because of past administrations that have caused this. Not staggering contracts and allowing options for the players put us at the mercy of the player manager who is using it to his advantage. I may be wrong but didn't Mayer Back end Farah, knife Potter, sort out the 4 contracts settling at the same time and do the Brian Smith Review which appointed JT who was never experienced enough to deal with this minefield.

I think that I've been banned for comments on Fox sports.com after I made some truthful comments about Hooper every time I try to comment the page shuts down.
I only told the truth about Hooper.

Through all this James hooper has been the "breaking news" with everything revolving Isaac Moses' clients. He maybe a tigers fan, but his employer is Isaac. Every time you read a quote from him it should read " the propaganda machine from Isaac moses' agency says…"

I forgot to mention earlier, but did someone in that interview suggest a board member leaked the JT sacking?

I think thats a poor poor decision by the board member (if true) and may be a reason why we are treated like basket case. Sure at times leaking miss information maybe useful but i can see no up side to leaking something like that.

Hooper is a knuckle head. But that was pretty entertaining. I think Tony Squires just lets him hang around to laugh at him.
I do share Hoopers frustrations and have little clue as to what is happening behind close doors, so I can relate. Like Hooper , i also don't have a high IQ and tend to make stuff up , however unfortunately I don't get paid to do it.

I'm guessing this is the article BT is referring to :

Wests Tigers may let Mitchell Moses join Parramatta Eels midyear as they eye off Shaun Johnson

WESTS Tigers will not stand in the way of Mitchell Moses joining Parramatta, provided they are properly compensated, but it will not be until after their Easter Monday clash.

Tigers officials also hope to know by this time next week if James Tedesco and Aaron Woods will accept their respective four-year deals.

And it can be revealed Shaun Johnson will become a target of the Tigers should they miss out on Tedesco or Woods, with the club keen to reunite the Kiwi playmaker with new coach Ivan Cleary.

In another rollercoaster week for the Tigers, club boss Justin Pascoe opened up about Moses’ pending Eels move, and how confident he was about retaining Tedesco and Woods.

Player agent Isaac Moses met Cleary after lunch on Friday in Townsville where Mitchell Moses will line up against the Cowboys.

As for it being one of the pivot’s final game in the Tigers colours, Pascoe said: “Ivan will make that determination and whether it’s in the best interests of the club.

“If Mitch is invested in what we’re doing the rest of the year and sees value in that, Ivan will make that determination.

“If it’s deemed we can move forward and Mitch can be released, it will have to be favourable for us, whether that be monetary or another player, it just has to be favourable.’’

Pascoe said reports Moses had a deal on the table worth $1 million a year over three seasons were “not accurate’’.

Once the Tigers became aware of the revised forecasts for the 2018 salary cap, they knew it would be impossible to keep Moses deal on the table.

Cleary broke the news to Moses on Tuesday that his offer had been spiked.

To his credit, Moses was understanding and did not storm out.

Tigers fans will be now sweating on fullback Tedesco and skipper Woods putting pen to paper and joining Luke Brooks, who has agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $1.1 million.

Asked if it would be a failure if the Tigers lost Moses, Tedesco and Woods — three of the so-called Big Four — Pascoe said: “It would be a fail against what our intent was.

“But players are not irreplaceable. Any player who leaves the club, and as Ivan said earlier today, they can be replaced.

“We have a strong football program in place, we have a large brand, and we’ll continue to strive forward and make sure we get the talent the club and fans deserves.

“I’m really confident we’ve done everything in our power to keep (Tedesco and Woods), and our intent has not changed over the last five months.

“It was just a perfect storm where we had four of our biggest players all off contract, in the prime of their career and under the same management.

“We’ve done everything in our power to afford James and Aaron the right opportunity to be a part of this club moving forward, and I really hope they take that opportunity up.’’

Pascoe reaffirmed there had been “no deadlines’’ put in place, but with the Roosters circling Tedesco, and the Bulldogs eyeing both Tedesco and Woods, the Tigers want closure either way.

Depending on the outcome, Johnson is off contract and is seen as an ideal target for the joint venture, especially in light of his bond with Cleary from his days at the Warriors.

No. Apparently it was tweeted prior to the official announcement, and Hooper tried to infer that it cam from a Board member. And it may have - but once again, Hooper is adding 1 + 1 and getting 3.

If Tedesco and Woods go, you'd think the offer to SJ would be close to a million if not a little more. With his pre-existing connection to Cleary, he may find it hard to say no.

This would be an awesome outcome.
