He only kicked 4 goals in his NRL career with Parra and Tigs:
Add to this a 72m possible world record drop out and the "best ever" field goal.

Despite the good form he displays on the field, how good is it to have someone who kicks with that sort of accuracy. To have someone who makes almost very try count for 6 points is something we haven't had for a long time.

Yep, I was stoked when I found out Patty was coming back, he's that type of player you just know won't let you down.

I remember "radar boot" fondly. Conlon could certainly kick a ball. Richards though, geez when he hits that ball sweetly it goes a long, long way. Came up with a 62 metres line drop out on the fly, and the penalty goal from halfway went dead comfortably, looked to be an easy 65 metre kick.

So glad the NFL didn't sign him up.

You know I was initially against the idea of Richards being selected in Origin, mainly due to his age and lack of speed compared to other options, but on second thoughts, perhaps it might not be a bad idea after all. The guy is a winner, he is used to winning and he has a huge influence on any team he plays in - NSW sure could use his presence. Hell, I'd almost pick him on his kicking game alone - he would cause Qld all sorts of headaches :smiling_imp:
