Paul Carriage vs Beau Ryan

I can't remember what year he played for the Eels but in one game (finals I think?) his performance was highlighted by a number of brain explosions. I think Beau is now on par with this bloke, the writing has been on the wall with him over the past few weeks on his on field performance with silly decisions creeping into his game just like they were 2 seasons ago. Parra did the right thing and Carriage never played again because of his inability to get over that game! Beau is it time to pursue your tv career?

It was Parra v Dogs. The incident I remember is on full time Carrige kicked the ball away and the Dogs almost kicked a field goal to win.

Ryan was a disaster but the worst examples I've seen are that Souths bloke in the 1980s who just couldn't hang on to the ball and that "ex-NFL player" who Warren Ryan put on the wing for Newcastle (someone Smith I think).

Yeah it was Paul Carriage in the famous prelim final in 1998 when Canturbury came from 18-2 down with 11 minutes left to win it in extra time. He kicked the ball ahead about 10m out from his own tryline on fulltime, and Polla-Mounter attempted a field goal which went just under the post Benji style from near halfway.
I remember Sterlo venting some frustration at his performance in commentary as well.

I dont think Ryan is that bad, to me its simple, he isnt a fullback.

If anything his performance under the bombs reminds me of one night where A Johns just peppered Clinton Schifoske all night and gave him nightmares under the bomb.

wat about the nite bug manu had a few years ago against parra that was worse than beaus effort

I guess the difference was Manu just lost all confidence catching the ball. Beau made a lot of dumb decisions.
