Payten finished ???

I have heard that Todd Payten badly broke his hand against Manly last week and is unlikely to play again this year, meaning he may well be finished in the NRL. Has anyone heard this or can confirm it. I just heard something now.

I looked around the forum etc to see if anything was on it but I have found nothing. Apologies if I missed it somewhere.

Anyone?

The poor bloke is playing busted with or without his hand be broken. I know he add so much to the team in both attack and defense, but I just cant see him getting back to the required standard. A broken hand in a funny way could be a bonus because I think Sheens and rightly so wants to give Todd every chance of going out on a big note. BMM and Fifita could be in for a recall

It was pretty obvious during the game he'd done himself a mischief. He was clutching at his hand on numerous occasions. He's done his hand or a finger.

Sad news if thats the case :frowning:

Don't know about a broken hand, but he was hobbling badly of friday night, definatly looks like he's on his last legs.

I think he would love to hit the 150 games… I think he is one or two games off this. I maybe incorrect.
Go payto. :sign:

he's been struggling all yr,and not neccessarily due to injury either
i have no idea why he signed a contract for next when he can barely get through this yr
he's alwayz been 1 of my favourite players but its time now to put the old boy out to pasture
Junior Moors anyone?

He looked like he was playing wounded. We have good young blokes in the wings but Todd's experience around the ruck especially in defence will be hard to replace at this stage of the season.

Moors is apparently in good form.

Would love to see him in the side.

Payten's experience and shrewd abilities would be invaluable stuff to teach our up and coming forwards.

Pull your head in Demps. If you haven't got anything constructive to say, don't say it.

Payten still puts in the effort Demps, and in defence makes great reads.

Plus his flick pass against the raiders earlier this year was a pearler, almost as good as Gareth Ellis' Pass against the warriors.

geez ease up guyz i'm sure Demps was only trying to have a sense of humor
just coz you joke around doesn't mean you don't have respect for the guy

unfortunatly that flick pass was his only highlight this yr
the guy is finished

he knows he is on his last legs which is why he has decided to help manage the under 20s next year instead of playing

Would like to see him get some match fitness in NSW cup if his hand isn't broken before he comes back Seemed to really struggle with the pace of the game on Friday night

We will know later today when the team is named.

Im hoping he can squeeze a few more games out,

Ps - I hate the phrase " Washed Up" These guys have made it to a level that 99% simply dream about.

unfortunately father time catches up with us all, and I think it has caught up with Todd. Great career and a wonderful player for us, reckon he would be super to keep round the club in some capacity.
