Penriff going down...

couldn't have happened to a a nicer coach...However...I wish our blokes had 1/2 the commitment shown by the bunnies and the unity as a team.
If rumors that we were going to get Bennett are true, you do wonder if he had been able to get more out of our lot (somewhat doubtful imho ). This said, that a coach has a definite imprint on the team has become even more obvious watching the finals. Even the Titans surprised me...How teams can unearth so much talent (or how well they are coached) is something to applaud, no matter who you follow.

I think the performances by the Titans, Storm, Rabbits and even the undermanned Roosters underline for me the fact that the coach is the most critical element in not only getting the best out of average players, but knowing what tactics to employ for different teams. That win by Souths was remarkable. Cudos the players, but masterstroke by Bennett.

I don't think people realise that the coach's main job is to get the best out of the 25 men that he will use. That's it- his job is to manage the 25 men and the three coaches.

Pathways, junior development, development of junior coaches etc is secondary.

The 25 men that we use now, I don't think Madge is the best person to get the best out of them. However, I think he would do great coaching our juniors and instilling good values (if he wants to be demoted to that).

Cody Walker pound for pound must be the most competitive player in the NRL. Hard as nails, skill and a will to win…perfect player

Excellent player but he’s one bloke that I hate on sight.

Penriff should have beaten Souffs easily last night just like they did earlier in the seson but for some reason there seemed to be a flatness in there game last night. When they signed TPJ for a short term contract I wondered what effect it would have on the team with someone in there squad having to miss out and sometime and also news that Kikau is on the way out wouldn't help as the islander boys are very close looks like Pamfers may go out in straight sets and we can all line up for Ivan to kiss our *****

There is certainly a degree of possibility in what you say.Tight teams have fallen apart before in that situation

Penrith are rinsed.

I would hate to see Rabbits V Panthers final...

Hate those teams more then any other.. put Eels on that list too..

Hoping its Storm V Roosters, but more or less will be Storm V Rabbits

Cleary Snr has become so much more smug there last few years. Love to see them go out in straight sets. Hope it's a ref decision that ends them 😁

Storm vs Roosters - that for me would be worse than a public enema.

Loved to see Penrith lose but would have preferred the Rorters and the Eels to have joined the losing list too.
I don't hate Melbourne as much now smith has retired but jeez don't want them to win again.

How do you know it would be worse than a public enema?

Use your imagination as to what it would be like. 🙂

Out of the 6 teams left all of them are dislikeable to some degree with storm probably the least dislikeable.Souffs and Pawwa are by far the worst options

It's all due to personal perceptions I know but by worst to least worst options in order would be : Parramatta, Penrith, Roosters, Manly, Storm, Souths.
Souths are my least worst only because one of my sons and his son are Souths fans. If WT can't win for me I'd like to see their team win the premiership. Parra used to be my second team back in the Sterlo, Kenny, Ella days but I hate them with a passion now.

I hate Parra cos their fans are lame.
I hate Penrith cos of the Clearys and other reasons we won't discuss on an open forum.

All in on Melb this Finals series as they're too good and I can't see any beating them.

Like them a lot more since Smith is gone as others have said.
I really like Harry Grant and Nicho Hynes too.
Just a good team to watch.
Wouldn't support em though... but imagine that, you'd get very use to success, as a fan.

Penrith butchered plenty of tries that could have easily won them the game though...an off night.
Annoying thing for me is how many times Souths players are the so called victims in 'crusher 'tackles.
Nothing changes the way the refs always look after the Dunnies.

Agreed, but its in all games now. Any player holding a neck after a tackle needs to go off for a HIA style neck inspection. We have a duty of care, surely.

....and it would stop the milking in an instant.

Wayne Bennett taking his opposite number to school yet again. nothing better than seeing Ivan come up with a number of excuses and Brandy covering his own backside. Penrith are done. there is no way they come out the other side of two clashes with Parramatta and Melbourne and find a way to make the grand final, let alone win the comp.
