People pay very good money to watch Football games. To see a reserve grade side play a pretty much full first grade side is not in the spirit of the game.
Sure I get why Penrith are doing it, but should the punters pay full freight to watch ? I think not.
Every team has played the same amount of games .
Every team would be fatigued .
Every team has injuries .
Every team should field their best team .
Penrith just do what ever they want .
Not sure what all the fuss is about…there’s little hinging on this game for the panthers. Pressure is all on the dogs this week and even if they win they still haven’t beaten a top side lol.
I’d like to think we’d do the same.
Muffy, using this logic, when teams turn up and play like crap - we should all have a portion of our ticket price refunded.. in that case, the tigers owe me thousands.. maybe tens of thousands!People pay very good money to watch Football games. That's a great point...Why can't we play Penrith in the last round every season please Mr Vlandy ??
I’m just annoyed cos it practically gifts the Dogs a top 4 finish. And it does ruin what had the potential to be a cracker of a last round with so many different scenarios that could have played out. Apart from that, I couldn’t care less. Not sure what all the fuss is about…there’s little hinging on this game for the panthers. Wayne Bennett once let his high-flying Rabbitohs lose to a bottom of the table Bulldogs to ensure his former club, the Broncos, got the spoon. There's no evidence but they played so poorly and had nothing on the line. The dots all connect.I can see this too. I think there are some rules in the EPL with regards to fielding a competitive side, esp in regards to Relegation matches. I would hate for a scenario where we would have made the 8 but the Panthers fielded their reserve team against a team that was also vying for the finals and we got pipped on points difference.
Then again if it was us we would choke at LO late season regardless. In any case I think its a bit of a low key flex to the Bulldogs as well. They really are one of the great teams of this Code.
