Penrith salary cap rumour

I would say no to Moylan, simply because it reduces our chances of signing Nathan Cleary in the future… and I live in hope!

I don't think Nathan should risk coming here to play under his father. He is making a name for himself at Penrith and they want him. If he comes here and fails, there will be all sorts of finger pointing going on.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ivan and Gus are conversing a little behind the scenes, along the lines of Gus suggesting they will deliver Moylan to us if we leave Nathan alone which will allow them in turn to extend his contract like they are currently trying to do.

Well it does appear that Moylan is leaving the Panthers, I would take him, play him at fullback, Tui at 5/8 and push Reynolds to Hooker, this would actually gives the team a hooker who has a kicking game thus taking pressure off the halves.

Absolutely hate that idea Les.

I don't.

I can't stand Moylan, his punchable face which is always spitting like a camel. An overrated, undisciplined ballhog. Decent postional FB play, but doesn't have the size to break the line or the speed to run around it. Hate how he runs to the line and puts a short hospital pass on. Pennies play much better without him.

I can see why Gould and Griffin want to get rid of him - much more upside in Edwards and May.

Here's Panthers fan's comments from LU on Moylan possibly going. "Surely Luai would be the better replacement. Played with Cleary in the halves, gives us a right and left foot kicker.
Bigger concern was the article about the Clearys a month back, where Ivan said he would go after Nathan in a couple of years. Lose one, a few years later lose the other, that would screw up the club and ruin the prime years of the rest of the squad.

Moylan is a very good footy player and tough as ,looks like things have gone pear shaped for him at the Panthers for what ever reason .Interesting what is going to happen to him ..being a top salary earner and contracted for 4 yrs at the panthers (another long contract gone south). IMO he has an attitude problem and with this he is not needed at the Tigers as the cultural change is happening ,the club does not need another Moses! A real shame as he with the right attitude would be a great attribute to our club.

I think that the Panthers have fallen into a similar trap to the tigers. They paid big contracts to local juniors based on their Holden cup form and a couple of highlights in the NRL.

They're going to have to lose a couple at some point you would assume. There is having depth, but Penrith's depth is ridiculous.

It was only ever going to be a short term thing. The amount of quality outside backs that they had this year on the books was staggering. Consider spine players as well even after letting TMM go.

Moylan is not coming to Wests.

Do you know where he is headed ?

No, all I have been told is that he is not going anywhere.

Fair enough. I was told this morning he would be gone on Monday. Not saying he will be with us but I'd be stunned based on what I've been told if he remains with Penrith beyond this year.

Could be foxing for all I know.

I've heard from a few different people who know him that believe Moylan is a total douche. I wouldn't be surprised regarding any rumour being linked to him.

I've heard from lots of people who don't know him that he's a total douche. He comes across in the media as narcissistic and arrogant - I'm not sure that's the sort of 'personality' we need at the club. I'd be happy if we pass.

I'd be confident that Cleary would be aware of his personality.
