I'm sorry, but I just don't understand this. The leagues club owes millions and has no asset worth saving.

Let it go. Pump the money into Balmain football club (or WT) and or start a new leagues club with a clean slate.

What is a petition going to do? Can I pay my phone bill if I get 1000 people to sign a petition?

I've signed it, not sure how much difference it will make at this stage, but worth a shot I guess.

Would really like to hear 'Tigers fan' Barry O make some comment on the matter but he's currently running a mile from anything Geronimo related…

What should he commit. Allow a stupidly out of place building to go in just because we all love our club. Come on guys, since when did we want political leaders who make decisions to either spend millions of tax payer money bailing out our own mistakes or approving out of place buildings in a spot where the traffic is already embarrassing.

I said comment.

Say something like he supports the club and will see what he can do about moving the development process along.

As the mayor said in that interview, the application has been with the nsw govt for 3 years now.

I guess it's a bit late for all that now.

In which case maybe Barry could come out and say 'whoops, I f'd up, lol sorry'.

Why should we sign it to be honest ??

When I can see a well founded business plan that will bring some economic sense to Balmain's plight I will

All I see is the same thing happening 10 years down the track

More economic mismanagement and more headaches for the Wests Tigers

Again more signs this club can't move forward because it is hamstrung by the past …........ still .

This is all pointless. As i said in the other thread, okay, wipe the debt away, they still need the cash to hire employees, furnish the place, pay bills etc. Where's that money going to come from? i know its hard to let go, but the whole thing is a lost cause.

That's Right, let it go. As usual, Balmain will expect Western Suburbs to spoon feed them and want sympathy as they are dead broke. No point of blaming anyone but themselves. I agree it is a lost cause and the current Balmain Leagues Club will now become a shrine.

The Leagues Club is done for, let it go…

Agreed

Went through this with my beloved Wests Panthers in Brisbane

Maybe in the future the Leagues Club could be set up again when the WT's are in a better position

Who knows maybe they could set up a side in the RMC in the future

But at the moment , the best things for the WESTS TIGERS is Balmain LC clears its debts and ceases to exist

It will hurt the many Balmain supporters involved , but the last thing anyone needs is the Wests Tigers to go under or be relocated because of the Balmain Tigers Leagues Club

Agreed ??

If they still own the gaming machine licenses, they could use that to secure a loan from banks etc if they place a strong business case on the table in a new location?

But if they havnt already transferred those licenses by 5pm today, I'd assume the receiver's will swoop on them as a priority!

When the old balmain leagues club is finally torn down , can't we all buy a brick ?
Every dollar counts !

Not knowing the full details of the dealings I don't want to say anything that can be assumed as litigious, however for a certain person involved in the mess I'd say their status has been tarnished from here on in.

indeed… though when a few ex-players piped up recently offering to put in, Siro Snr, Pearce, Blocker, the cretins name was also on the list. They should keep that scumbag as far away as possible from the club if they want any credability.

I don't want to waste my time signing the petition . But don't worry folks blocker is working behind the scenes to get it all sorted

Let wests pay for it. They owe balmain that much.
