Pettybourne

I noticed Eddie Pettybourne playing prop for Souths and played well.

Do you think Sheens will play him at prop next year off the bench?

Props for 2013

Woods
Galloway
Bell
Pettybourne
BMM
Groat?

Anyone from under 20's who could step up?

Could be used as an interchange prop, but I'd only look at that option in the event of injuries. I'd prefer to give the Tigers backrow a bit more punch.

Would rather see him play 2nd row & we sign a prop for next year, like a lot of people i feel we are a prop or two short.

I think Pettybourne will be used as a prop and will go well

the one I'm wondering about is Bodene Thompson

He sort of plays a BMM role right? A big back rower running hard on the edges? But we already have one BMM… plus Blair, Anasta, Heighno, Fulton, etc etc.

will Thompson only get a run if there are injuries? Does Sheens think he'll make a good prop?

It was like the 06 signings of Sam harris Lolesi danny Galea, all were only used with injuries and played all over the place, they were all awful too hLoope it doesn't turn out like that again

Lolesi - the greatest 5/8 of all time, and to think he was signed to replace Pat Richards

Epic fail there by Sheens

From NYC: Fotuaika, Brown, Groat, Paasi
BRET: Curren, Seumanufagai
Reserves: Moors

IMHO, they all deserve a chance. Will we again go to unjustified spendathon, and disregard local talent is a different story :crazy

I would like to see Bell and Fotuaika as the bench props, BMM as our impact edge runner, and Pettybourne as the role Bell plays this year - subbing in anywhere in the forwards.

Fotuaika seems to be highly thought of with forum members.

Groat might be let go at the end of the year.

Like to see local talent given a shot next year.

Kyle Lovett looks the goods

Yep, Lovett is a very solid, no nonsense footballer. Nothing flashy but great workrate. Could be the one to take the Fulton/Heighno role once they've departed.

fulton is solid in defense but more than solid and quite flash in attack tbh. it will be VERY hard to replace fulton. since he has came back, we've made the semis.. not that there is a direct connection but he makes a big difference to our team.

I don't want any part of Groat

Harsh considering his age and the fact he was asked to perform as a starting prop way before his time.

Nothing to do with him being thrown in the deep end, i've never been impressed by anything i've seen from him, and to top it off he cost us big time in the Warriors semi last yr. I don't think he'll amount to anything special as a first grader. Just cos he's young doesn't automatically mean he'll develop into anything special

No, but being young means he deserves a little slack I reckon.

He isn't an Aaron Woods, but thats not the say he should be thrown on the scrap heap because he didn't impress as a 20 year old prop in the NRL at a time when most other young forwards are still running around with kids their own age.

Agreed Fulton is a great player but realistically he's probably got only a few more years left in him, which is perfect timing for Lovett to come in to the side. Lovett played all his juniors in the centres, so I'm sure his ballwork would be reasonably sharp and he could slot into the backrow.
