Play benji at fullback

starting this week ,put benji to fullback and fulton into 5/8….if he gunna be our fullback next year we may as well give him a crack now .

To do that will cause major disruption to their shape and strategy, they r just getting everyone back, to make that move now is to throw in the towel for 2011 IMO, would require too much coaching

Fulton at 5/8?? i dont think Sheens would ever do that, especially with Benji there and also there is Curtis Sironen who could come up if needed….

i can see it ,,, with miller and sirro coming through….
and this year anybody to fullback as long as mickinnon isnt picked again....we all know fulton will be back so why not put him 5/8 .. he is way too small for the pack

We must have our best players in their best suited position, for us to be successful Benji is our 6

Don't get me wrong tiger I can see where ur coming from, benj has some great attributes for a fb, especially with his improved D this year, but his best spot for him and the team definitely 5/8

Play him wherever, as long as he touches the ball in attack more than any other player in the team (excluding the dummy half). It would be a shame to see him turn into a Hayne type fullback who does not touch the ball enough.

Defence is no longer an issue for him. Statistically he makes the least tackles of any 5/8 in the NRL so he is no longer targeted or is being hidden well. Whether he is in the front line or not, I dont see it as a big difference.

i agree re: benji

however fulton no

we have lui, moltzen, miller and sirronen…

fulton is better on the edges as a ball runner

I cant see Benji ever being moved to fullback. I think its all talk and Sheens has no intention at all to do it

I agree with you. Despite Sheens complete and utter terrible selections at times he isn't one to change it around that often.

Wouldn't rule it out.

Moltzen could start this week in the halves with Lui and Benji goes to Fullback. See how it works. If it doesn't go well Benji back to 5/8 and Meaney to Fullback.

Seriously this is one of the worst ideas ever, it will and should not EVER happen.

A fullback has to have the ability to put their body on the line - this is not an attack on Benji, he's just not that type of player. Moltzen is EXACTLY the same. They both can't handle throwing their body on a loose ball, there just isn't much of them.

It will only shorten his career, def not something the Tigers won't (obv).

Do you like seeing the ball bounce when a high kick is put in or sticking arms out and closing his eyes to take a bomb. Benji won't take on a defensive line let alone put his body on the line to take a kick. Think of what hodgo used to put himself through, i can't see Benji doing that.
